After the
New Year’s we all have the intentions along the lines of working out, eating
healthier, reading more, and just overall self-improvement. For me personally
it is always hard to get right on my New Year’s Resolutions just because there
is still so much going on after New Year’s and so much to catch up on; I
usually don’t even get a chance to start on my New Year’s goals till about the
middle of January.
Lately I
have noticed in my email, twitter, and social media some are already starting
to fall into the trap of negative think, being way too hard on themselves, and
even already viewing 2018 as the year
that they just isn’t what they thought it was going to be. We are only 10 days
into a new year and it is never too late to make a fresh start. So, Just
because the first 10 days weren’t all that great doesn’t mean that the next 355
day can’t be fabulous!
Even on
my worst day I always make a point to find a few bright spots that happened
during the course of the day, even if it is something as small as receiving a
funny text or finding some of my favorite flowers at Whole Foods.
Today I
thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite small things/moments and
I would love to hear some of yours!
An unexpected cup of hot
chocolate
The first snowflake of a snow
fall
Snow day pictures on Instagram
The smell of fresh flowers
The crackling of a fire
Finally winning a Words with
Friends Game against that person that always manages to beat you!
The warmth of my favorite coat
Anthropologie and J. Crew sales
Starting a new book and turning
that first crisp page
Finding a new dress that is
basically perfect for any occasion
A nice compliment
Randomly finding my favorite
movie on TV
Not having to skip over any song
on Spotify/Pandora because the station is so on point
Weekend brunches
Funny texts from friends
A new pair of shoes
Attempting to do the cat eye
eyeliner effect and it turns out perfect on the first try
Christmas lights
Cheese pizza on a cold night
Spending time with the person
that can make me laugh till I cry
A perfect hair day
Amy Grant Christmas music
Dinner with friends
Rosé
Freshly baked cookies
My dogs {aka my fur children}
Climbing into bed at night with
a peaceful mind
I agree it's never too late for a fresh start, lovely post!
