It's The Small Things

For what ever reason it always seems so easy to fall into the trap of concentrating on all the negatives in life and the big picture thing we don’t have; i.e. new car, next job promotion, latest trending fashion piece, etc. Ironically in my experience it always seems like the more positive thoughts you have the more positive things that come your way {I’m starting to think that karma is a real thing…} and it is the small things that eventually get you to that big step you are working towards.
After the New Year’s we all have the intentions along the lines of working out, eating healthier, reading more, and just overall self-improvement. For me personally it is always hard to get right on my New Year’s Resolutions just because there is still so much going on after New Year’s and so much to catch up on; I usually don’t even get a chance to start on my New Year’s goals till about the middle of January.

Lately I have noticed in my email, twitter, and social media some are already starting to fall into the trap of negative think, being way too hard on themselves, and even already viewing  2018 as the year that they just isn’t what they thought it was going to be. We are only 10 days into a new year and it is never too late to make a fresh start. So, Just because the first 10 days weren’t all that great doesn’t mean that the next 355 day can’t be fabulous!

Even on my worst day I always make a point to find a few bright spots that happened during the course of the day, even if it is something as small as receiving a funny text or finding some of my favorite flowers at Whole Foods.

Today I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite small things/moments and I would love to hear some of yours!

The first snowflake of a snow fall

Snow day pictures on Instagram

The smell of fresh flowers

The crackling of a fire

Finally winning a Words with Friends Game against that person that always manages to beat you!

  3. I do think it's extremely helpful to look at the positive side. There is way too much negative anyways, and it just doesn't help!!
