Tuckernuck Warehouse Sale

Just when we were all hitting that cold wintertime wall, wishing for warmer days, the tuckernuck warehouse sale arrives just in time to put a gust in everyone’s sail. This might not be the best thing to say, but I get such a rush from getting a great deal on something. Not even joking, in this sale you can get a sweater that had been a breath away from $300 for $90something. After this sale, I am now ready for winter to stick around for a couple more months!

There are only a few hours left to shop the sale… so if you haven’t had a chance, here are a few of my favorite items included in the sale {all of which are priced at amazing prices}!

Barbour Staffin Tartan Serape

I purchased this piece a few years ago and wear it from early fall to early spring. It always seems to elevate and pull together any casual look

Dudley Stephens Navy Striped Park Slope

A Dudley Stephens is one of my top wardrobe staple items. They can be worn with so many different things and so many different ways. These tops do run a little on the small size – be sure to size up at least one size

LoveShackFancy Rainny Dress

Love the whole vibe of LoveShackFancy and this dress is just so graceful and perfect for the upcoming summer days!

Hat Attack Blush Cheek Scarf

I love the classic check print of this scarf and the fact that it is in a neutral color

Blue Stripe Cotton Royal Shirt Dress

I have this in multiple colors/prints, so needless to say I absolutely love the style! In my opinion, this dress does run a little large so definitely recommend sizing down

Black Tweed Cece Skirt

This is one of my sale purchases and I cannot wait to wear it! I love the tweed and the leather details

Lele Sadoughi Cherry Buffalo Check Knotted Headband

Can one person every own too many headbands, especially when it comes to a plaid headband…

Blondo Brown Suede Waterproof Velma Boots

These boots are such a classic, need I say more…

Blackwatch Twiggy Dress

Confession: I have a major weak spot for anything in Blackwatch plaid…

Valentine's Day Inspiration

I cannot believe that we are in the last full week of January. I have always felt like the month of January is the yearly equivalent to Mondays, so it only makes sense for the month of February to be filled with all things pink, white, gold, red, and whatever kind of love you feel like celebrating! Since self-love and self-care has made such a wave over the past few years, I thought it would be fun to put together a collection of treat yourself items {a few of which would make great gifts as well}. I fully plan to put together a gift guide in the near future, but in the meantime, here are a few fun items for yourself!

One// Metallic Pleated A-Line Cocktail Dress

Confession: I have been dying for an excuse to get a little more dressed up than I normally would, and this dress is just perfect for a special Valentines dinner with friends or that someone special, or any special occasion. I love the understated elegance of this dress and the lines and gentle details are just beautiful

Two// Pink Beach Club Miami by Gray Malin

I am such a fan of basically any work by Gray Malin. His aerial photos and use of color are just stunning. A beautiful accent piece for any room!

Three// Brinker & Eliza Darcy Huggies

How cute are these rose quartz heart earring?! I just love how festive these earrings are for this time of year, and the rose quartz color easily makes them a year around piece.

Four// Organic Cipriani Pasta

Does anyone else automatically think of Lady and the Tramp when you see pasta or a box of pasta? I discovered Cipriani’s e-shop last year and let me just say it is amazing!! Highly recommend all their products!

Five// Heart and Arrow Brooch

I completely love the fact that brooches are making a major comeback. They are just such a fun way to add that little something extra to your coat or wrap for a night or just a regular outing!

Six// Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Flats

Obviously had to include a pair of red shoes, because, Valentines… These Ferragamo flats are without a doubt a splurge, but a shoe you will for many years to come!

Seven// Lele Sadoughi Pearl & Crystal Hearts Knotted Headband

It honestly took me a second to come around to the more padded headbands, but now I am 100% on board! The bubblegum color of this headband makes it such a fun piece and will definitely add a pop of color to any cold winter day!

Eight// KJP Be Mine Sweater

Kiel James Patrick always seems to come out with the cutest holiday themed and summer themed sweaters, and the quality of their products is up there with Ralph Lauren and Brooks Brother! This would be such a fun sweater to wear during the month of February and on those days when you need a little extra love

Nine// WOLF Caroline Zip Travel Case

I am ashamed to say that at times I have resorted to storing jewelry in a Ziplock for travel… take it from me, a nice little travel case for jewelry is a game changer!

Ten// Le Creuset Cerise Heart Cocotte

A heart shaped baker… need I say more…

Eleven// Diptyque Roses Scented Candle

Diptyque candles always smell amazing, and the packaging for this particular candle is just beautiful!!

Twelve// On Cloud Monochrome Sneakers

How cute are these On+ running shoes?! Obviously, everyone need a pair of pink shoes for the month of February, right…

Thirteen// PJ Salvage Star Print PJ Set

At night, this time of year, pajamas are my love language. The color of this particular pair is just too perfect and I love the star print!

Sunday Night Thought

Links I'm Loving

I cannot believe we are already reaching the end of January. Not to jinx things, and I know that we still have a lot going on with the pandemic and various things that are happening in the world, but when you draw the circle in closer to yourself and your core people, I actually feel like 2022 has gone much better than 2021 so far. Fingers and toes crossed that the good start to 2022 continues into the month of February!

One// 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene

I can’t remember if I have already mentioned this or not, but I started doing Adriene’s 30 days of yoga towards the end of December, and I have just loved this series. I am on day 28 and I can tell such a difference all around. Highly recommend!

Two// Loeffler Randall Daphne Pleated Bow Slides

I know sandal weather is still a few months away, but one can dream, right… I love the famine touches Loeffler Randall adds to all their items. These slides with the bow touch are just perfect for any spring/summer social event!

Three// Southern Living Winter Pasta Recipes

What is it about the winter season and cold weather that just makes everyone seem to crave pasta? It is the ultimate comfort food! I definitely plan on trying a few of these Pasta Recipes Southern Living has listed

Four// Stranger Things Season 4 Trailer

If you know, you know. If you haven’t watched Stranger Things before it definitely takes an episode or two to fully get into the series. I feel like we have been waiting forever for season four of Stranger Things to come out, and now it’s just around the corner {hopefully}!

Five// Maeve Taffeta Maxi Skirt

I love this skirt so much that I ordered it in both the pink on pink and the black on white combination. Fair warning, this skirt runs super small, size up at least one size. At the moment you have to check the website on and off to keep an eye out for your size, but I think a fair amount of people have been returning them {probably because the sizing is so off}, so getting your size eventually shouldn’t be a problem.

Favorite Winter Recipes

I know there are some mixed opinions out there about this particular topic, but I am completely loving all the snow we have gotten so far this year. I feel like it has not this much since the 90s’; for Nashville weather, we are lucky if we see snow twice in a year. Ever since I was little, I have always loved how snow has the ability to dress the world in white, bring a quiet peace to the world, and create a cozy day.

Nothing rounds out a snow day better than a warm fire, the sound of a movie playing in the background, and the smell of a delicious comfort food wafting through the house.

One// Slow Cooker Turkey Chili {The Pioneer Woman}

I made this recipe for the first time a couple weeks ago and it not only taste amazing, but it is so easy to make! Unpopular opinion: normally I am not a chili person, at all… I feel like most chili recipes call for a ridiculous amount of beef and beans, and I hate the uncomfortable feeling of being full, but this recipe is so well balanced out! I love that this recipe uses turkey instead of meat and it actually has a decent amount of vegetables in it.

Two// One Pot Chicken Parmesan Pasta Skillet {The Cookie Rookie}

This is one of my favorite pasta dishes to make, and all you need to make it is one pot and five ingredients! Delicious, and makes enough to have leftovers!

Three// Classic Minestrone Soup {Joanna Gaines}

I have been seeing Joanna Gaines’ Minestrone Soup recipe all over the internet, and finally made it a few weeks ago, and let me just say, it did not disappoint. Super easy to make, and this is honestly the best minestrone soup recipe I have come across thus far

Four// Chicken Pot Pie

In my opinion Chicken Pot Pie is the ultimate comfort food. I had been playing around with different chicken pot pie recipes for a while and finally decided to take my favorite elements from a few different recipes I had tried to create my own. I obviously have a biased opinion, but as far as homemade chicken pot pies go, this recipe is very tasty!

Five// Stuffed Peppers {The Pioneer Woman}

Fact: you can never go wrong with a Pioneer Woman recipe. Stuffed Peppers are another recipe that I’m normally not a fan of, because of the overwhelming amount of meat, but this recipe only calls for less than a pound of meat and the rest of the mix is vegetables, rice, and cheese, and it is amazing! Highly recommend!

Favorite Items Purchased In 2021

2021 definitely had a rocky start and hit a few rough patches along the way, but overall, I have to say it was a good year for fashion {minus the mom jeans and prairie inspired dresses, but if that is your thing, more power to you!}. Honestly though, there really were so fantastic beauty/fashion/home décor/etc. finds this past year. I have done my best to limit my favorite items that are still available!

One// Mi Golondrina Olivia Floral Blanca Azul Midi Dress

I am so in love with this blue and white floral pattern and the ruffle details. Mi Golondrina are a little bit of a splurge, but so worth the investment. Can be worn from spring all the way till the fall season with a sweater over top. Runs true to size

Two// Eugenia Kim Mirabel Hat

This hat looks like something right out of an Audrey Hepburn movie, and it is completely amazing

Three// Krewe St. Louis Sunglasses

If you are looking to change up your Ray-Ban collection, and add a little next level action, Krewe Sunglasses are a great option. I love how Krewe was able to marry together a classic look with a modern twist.

Four// Tory Burch Lee Radziwill Double Bag

The whole Lee Radziwill collection from Tory Burch is just gorgeous. I have been lusting after the Double Bag in Tiramisu for years, and finally decided to treat myself to it this past fall. It is even more beautiful in person and is a great everyday bag!

Five// Club Monaco Scoop Back Tee

I feel like good simple tees are surprisingly hard to come across; they are either too tight, too loose, too thin, etc. Club Monaco tees are honestly priced a little higher than I would like, but 100% worth the cost. The fit is wonderful, runs true to size, and they have a nice selection of tees in different styles and colors

Six// Golden Goose Superstar Sneakers

For the longest time I did not understand the hype that surrounded Golden Goose sneakers, then I invested in a pair, and completely get the hype now. These shoes are such a splurge, but I completely love how you can wear them with basically anything you would wear ballet flats with

Seven// Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push-Up Mascara

I am obsessed with mascara and makeup in general, and this particular Charlotte Tilbury mascara is in my top five favorite mascaras

Eight// Sugar Paper Desk Planner

Yes, I am one of those people who uses an actual planner. I love how polished this desk calendar is, the low profile of it, and the fact that it can easily be tossed in your handbag without add too much weight to what you already have

Nine// Burnout Shimmer Maxi Skirt

This is the perfect holiday/special event skirt that will be in your closet for years or decades to come. The fit is so flattering, and I love the shimmer effect and the way this skirt hangs

Ten// Hill House Nap Dress

If you know, you know. In my honest opinion, everyone should have at least two Hill House Nap Dresses in their wardrobe. Runs large, size down

Eleven// Glossier Lipstick

I don’t know why I waited so long to try Glossier lipstick. Spoiler alert, it is completely fabulous.

Twelve// Sarah Flint Natalie Flat

Once you break in the Sarah Flint Natalie flats, they are such a dream and mold to your feet to make for the best fit possible. My personal favorite color is Saddle Vachetta, for the simple reason that they can be worn year-round and go with absolutely everything

Thirteen// Tuckernuck Antelope Royal Shirt Dress

I purchased this dress over the summer, and it makes for the best transitional dress. Just add a sweater and it will carry you all the way through the summer and fall season

Fourteen// Pottery Barn Heathered Organic Flannel Sheet Set

Is there anything better than flannel sheets on a cold winter night? These sheets are beautiful, and the quality is just wonderful!

2022 Pantone Color of The Year: Periwinkle

I can never decide if Periwinkle is more blue or more purple, but whatever the case, I love the tone this color gives off. Believe it or not, back when 2020 was on the horizon I thought it was going to be an amazing year because the number arrangement of 2020 was ascetically pleasing, the color of the year was blue, and I had some other things on the horizon. However, I think 2020 showed us that a good color and ascetically pleasing number does not make a good year, but it’s the people you surround yourself with and the mindset you choose to take on that does.

Via

So, for 2022 always be sure to choose the mindset that will bring about the desired outcome and be mindful of the people you choose to spend your time with. Plus, a good color never hurts… goodness knows where we’d be if the color of 2020 hadn’t been blue {aka the best color ever}… Periwinkle, may not be blue, but it is still equally calming and beautiful, and has 100% made an appearance in my wardrobe since I was little, so obviously I have to share a roundup of a little Periwinkle inspiration!

Links I'm Loving

Knock on wood, but one thing I am most definitely loving so far is the year 2022! I was so ready to say goodbye to 2020 last year and was most definitely ready to say goodbye to 2021 last week. This is the first year in a little while that has felt like a fresh start, and that there aren’t any lose ends to tie up {aside from a few unanswered emails…}. I also love that it actually snowed in Nashville, twice in one week, which is basically unheard of for us. Fingers crossed for a little extra snow this year. For now, onto a few favorite links I have come across this week. Also, wishing everyone a warm night and wonderful weekend!

One// Being the Ricardos

I will be the first to say that Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem look nothing like the actual Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, but they 110% captured the spirit of both actors. This movie only has three stars on Amazon prim, but it should definitely have 5 stars!

Two// Free People Ottoman Slouchy Sweater

Free People oversize sweaters are one of my top five must-have items for a cold day. I just love how soft and cozy they always are

Three// Season 2 of Emily in Paris

Obsessed with Emily in Paris! I love the setting, storyline, clothes, and so much more. Now I can’t wait for season three to come out!

Four// Joanna Gaines Minestrone Soup

Not only is Joanna Gaines the queen of shiplap, but her minestrone soup recipe is amazing and so easy to make

Five// 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene

I am currently on day 13 of 30 with Adriene and I am completely hooked! I love how each video is notably different from the last, and I love the speed and flow of this series.

December Reading List

I usually feel like New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day is a bittersweet time; goodbyes are always a little sad, but a blank canvas is always a welcome change. I was more than ready to wave hello to 2022. This is the first year I have entered in about two years where I feel like the new year is truly a fresh start for many reasons, and I am more than ready to embrace whatever comes my way.

During the month of November and December I was on a major holiday reading kick. After all, why not take the opportunity to indulge in a few feel-good holiday reads!

The Santa Suit, by Mary Kay Andrews

Love basically any book written by Mary Kay Andrews and this one is no exception. A newly divorced woman, Ivy, seeks out a new life by moving to a new town. She ends up buying a home that is known for the Christmas decorations the previous owners left behind. In the pocket of a Santa suit Ivy finds a letter written by a young girl years earlier. She soon becomes fixated and must find out how the story ends. Ivy’s quest draws her into her new community and into a new love interest.

Christmas Charms, by Teri Wilson

Teri Wilson books are just the ultimate feel-good reads. I love how this one starts out on a little bit of a down note, that leads the main character, Ashley, to the exact place she needed to be all along for her life to come full circle. Highly recommend

Winter Solstice, by Elin Hilderbrand

Winter Solstice is the fourth book in Hilderbrand’s Winter Street series, and I am holding out hope that she decide to write a fifth instalment for this series. The Quinn family is finally back together to celebrate the holidays at the infamous Winter Street Inn. All the Quinns’ are on the cusp of either new love interest, new careers, and all around just new beginnings. Cannot recommend this winter themed series enough!

The Christmas Bookshop, by Jenny Colgan

I downloaded this book on Audible, and when I first started listening to it I honestly was not sure if I was going to like it, and actually debated on giving up on it early on, and I am so glad I did not! About thirty minutes in I was completely hooked. This is such a sweet journey of two sisters developing relationship, and how both their individual lives benefit from their relationship

Why I'm Not Setting Any New Year's Goals/Resolutions

If the past few years have taught me anything, it is that life moves quickly, plans can go out the window, and everything can change in the blink of an eye.

Personally, I think resolutions/goals are a great practice to have and strive for. Normally, I would be in the process of coming up with at least ten {rather cliché} New Year’s Goals/Resolutions: Read more, go to bed earlier, be healthier, and so on. All of which are respectable goals to have at any point during the year, and admittedly in the back of my mind, I will probably try to tick off a few of the typical resolutions I tend to make.

However, the reason I am choosing not to make a list of resolutions this year is because I want to be open to whatever comes my way, both the expected and the unexpected, and I don’t want to miss an opportunity by having my brain pre-programed for something and go down the path of tunnel vision, but rather have the freedom of fluidity.

I guess I kind of am making one goal this year, and I don’t mean for this to sound self-righteous or selfish in any why, but I really want to help myself out and make myself a little bit more of a priority than I usually do. About a year ago one of my friends described me as a ‘helper’, and they are right, I am always willing to help other people out, but I don’t always take the steps to help myself out in the capacity that I should.

For me personally, I feel like 2018 was the last “normal” year I had. 2019 was a whirlwind of a year; my sister got married, halfway through 2019 to early 2020 I experienced disappointment on a scale that I have never experienced before, then the ominous part of 2020 emerged, but thankfully is calming down. I guess during the process of dealing with all these other things I have kind of put myself on the back burner.

I guess for this year I am going with the thinking that if you let go of the idea of the way things ‘should’ be, things will naturally start to fall into place the way they are supposed to. I honestly want to look back on 2022 as a meaningful year of positive change, whatever that maybe, and just be open to every single possibility that is on the path ahead of me, and sometimes I feel like the best place to get to that place is to just let go, be a good person, and at the end of the day do what is right for you.
