Links I'm Loving

One thing I love about a holiday is the long weekend that follows, and this time of year… the movies and the sales that seem to follow! I honestly feel a little weird that 2021 is winding down, but with all the festive decorations it’s hard not to get caught up in the magic of the holiday spirit. While we’re on the subject of holidays, I promise more gift guides are coming for those of you who are wondering. For now though, here are a few links I am loving right now!

One// Downton Abbey Returns!

I have always felt like the show, Downton Abbey, ended way sooner than it should have. There was just so much more meat on the bone, but I completely understand them wanting to wrap up the story line before the popularity died off. However, I am so excited that we get to keep up with our favorite characters in the second Downton Abbey movie!!

Two// Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Beautifying Eye Filter Mascara & Eyeliner Set

I love all the gift sets this time of year, not only because they make great gifts, but also because it allows you to try out new products at a buddle price. I had serious doubts about this mascara after seeing the brush, but like all other Charlotte Tilbury products, I completely love it!

Three// Golden Goose Sneakers

Definitely a splurge, but completely worth it. These are my current favorite Golden Goose shoes right now. They just seem to go with everything, and I love how comfortable they are.

Four// A Castle for Christmas

Love Brook Shields; she always comes across as such a nice person, great style, and her movies and characters are always fun to watch. I will admit that A Castle for Christmas is a little on the cheesy side, but in all the best ways. It is just a fun, lighthearted holiday. Highly recommend!

Five// Shopbop Black Friday Sale

The Shopbop Black Friday Sale is hands down one of my favorite sales. The price range and designers they offer on their site are seemingly endless. Madewell, Ferragamo, English Factory, Gucci, Sea, Golden Goose, APL, basically and designer or brand you can imagine, and almost everything is up to 50% off sitewide!

I love the fact that over the past decade Black Friday has evolved into Black Friday/Cyber Monday week/weekend. It really takes the stress out of the whole process that is black Friday and makes it possible for holiday shopping to be a little bit more enjoyable. Shopbop Black Friday Sale

I love the fact that Black Friday and Cyber Monday has evolved over the years into a week, or at the very least a weekend. I feel like it really cuts down on the craziness Black Friday used to bring about, it’s the perfect opportunity to get a little early, and treat yourself to a few of those items you’ve had your eye on!

Another added bonus to the whole Black Friday experience is that you can even take advantage of all the amazing sales going on from the comfort of your own bed. Shopping, sales, and warm sheets – yes, please! Personally, the Shopbop Black Friday sale is one of my most favorites! I love the fact that they have so many different price point, every level of designer you can imagine, and if you ever have trouble with anything their customer is amazing! This year you can receive up to 50% off an item with code ‘HOLIDAY’

Here are a few of my sale favorites!!

Gray Malin Surfing Waikki// I have been in love with Gray Malin’s work for years now, and the fact that a few of his pieces are included in the sale is just amazing!

Madewell Aidy Square Neck Tiered Midi Dress// This year, for some reason, I have definitely leaned more towards the longer skirts and dresses. I just love the lines they tend to create, and they are really versatile pieces. This one would look lovely with booties, ridding boots, flats, or even a fun pair of sneakers

Rag & Bone Addison Recycled Wool Scarf// Rag & Bone’s scarves are absoutly amazing and so easy to style. This one comes in three different colors, all of which are on sale!

AGOLDE Tone Mid Rise Straight Jeans// In my honest opinion, everyone should have at least one pair of AG jeans in their closet. The fit is almost, always flattering, the material is a dream, and the quality is outstanding. Really love how these fit up a little higher and the bottom of the legs are slightly destressed

Salvatore Ferragamo Varina Flats// These flats {in any color} are such a wardrobe investment and a flat you will have for many years to come

MCM Large Liz Shopper Tote// I have been debating whether to get this bag for the longest time now. I usually carry the Louis Vuitton Neverfull for my everyday bag, and I love how this one is a similar style, but different at the same time

Victoria Beckham Sleeveless Ruffle Neck Top// Just recently learned that Victoria has her own clothing line… how did I not know this?! This top is completely adorable and would be so perfect for the summer or to wear right now under sweaters, cardigans, etc

TSE Cashmere Bi-Color Luxe Cashmere Turtleneck// When is cashmere ever a bad idea… I like to think the answer to that question is a firm ‘no’. Even on sale this sweater is somewhat of an investment, but the quality and neutral color and the fact that it can be worn for the next few years to come 100% worth the splurge

Rag & Bone Classic Avaitor Sunglasses// I really like how this particular pair of sunglasses has a slightly different shape than most aviators, plus, the color of them is beautiful!

Aquazzura Bow Tie Pumps// I feel in love with this brand when it come out years ago. Everything down to their company logo is just beautiful! These pumps are such a classic item to add to your wardrobe

Sea Flutter Sleeve Dress// Full honesty, I know this is going to be an unpopular opinion, but I am not a fan of most Sea pieces… I feel like most of their dresses are very flattering on and on some of their items the fit is just off for me. However, love, love, love this dress. Super flattering and love the smocking on the top half of the dress

Free People Ariana Sequin Maxi Skirt// Does anyone ever actually outgrow having a soft spot for sequins… This would be such a fun skirt for the holiday season, especially those New Year’s parties!

Blue & White Gift Guide

Trends may come and go, but as far as I am concerned, a blue and white combination will always be in style. In the world of fashion and interior design today we consider so many patterns as ‘neutrals’ {which always end up looking fantastic}, why not add blue & white to the list of neutrals… honestly, I feel like when you put blue next to almost any color, it just adds such a nice element to the overall look.

I know read and green are the traditional Christmas colors, but I love a little blue and white thrown in here and there. Being a blonde with fair skin, blue is always my safe color when it comes to fashion, and my favorite color when it comes to decorating, so… I thought it would be fun to put together a blue & white Christmas gift guide!

One// J. Crew Classic Lady Day Coat

You really can’t go wrong when it comes to a J. Crew coat. I love how they have bought back the more vibrant blues over the past few years, and this coat in Misty Blue is just stunning!

Two// Wedgewood Christmas Charms Set of 3 Snowflakes and Star 2021

Wedgewood ornaments always make me swoon. I just love the way the standout on a Christmas tree {in a good way}. It really does bring Christmas decorating to the next level

Three// Floral Ginger Jar, Blue/White

Is there ever such a thing as too many ginger jars… I hope this answer to this is ‘no’… Ginger jars always seem to add such a classic element to any room, and is an easy way to add some height to a room and tie different elements together

Four// Sarah Flint Natalie Flat in Navy Suede

I had the opportunity to work with the Sarah Flint company for six months last year, and I just completely fell in love with the brand, the products, and the fact that it is a woman owned company. In my honest opinion, every woman needs at least one pair of Natalie flats in her wardrobe. Runs true to size, a special gift for anyone!

Five// Saltspring Shams

Who can ever resist the classic/beachy/airy feel of Serera & Lily!? This pillow would be so perfect for porch furniture or a neutral or navy couch. Perfect for that friend or family member who enjoys a classic piece with a beachy twist!

Six// Canton Collection Wine Bucket

This is a piece that can so easily be used for spring, summer, fall, and just add a beautiful red bow to bring it into the holiday season. Definitely a great gift for the wine lover!

Seven// Italian Blue Floral Dinner Plate

Blue, White, and Floral – who could every resist this combination?

Eight// Juliska Country Estate Serving Platter

Juliska Delft Blue Country Estate is one of my favorite china patterns. This would be such a great gift for anyone!

Nine// David Yurman Petite Chatelaine Pave Bezel Ring

It probably goes without saying that this is a gift for someone special in your life or a meaningful treat yourself moment, but honestly, who doesn’t love a little bling

Ten// Lele Sadoughi Toile Knotted Headband

I think it is safe to say that Lele Sadoughi has taken the fashion by storm with their headbands. This is the perfect gift for that firend or family member who is completely into hair accessories

Eleven// Tory Burch Eleanor Crossbody

This crossbody would be the perfect gift with that person in your life who loves to travel while being stylish. Whenever I travel to a larger city a crossbody is always a must for me, and this one is just perfect to use for that purpose!

Twelve// Tuckernuck Slate Blue Leather Trim Funnel Neck Piper Poncho

Love this piece and I feel like for the quality and design of this poncho it is so reasonably priced! I think it is safe to say that this is a gift almost anyone would love!

Thirteen// Crosley Voyager Turntable

I am 100% such a fan of nostalgic/throwback items. I think the fact that records have made a major comeback is such a fun thing. This one would be so easy to work into the design of any room and I love the size and color or this turntable

Links I'm Loving

Who else is completely loving the fact that Christmas decorations are starting to make an appearance?! I love driving down a street after the sun has set and seeing the soft glow of Christmas lights dancing atop tress, boxwoods, and houses. Even in the middle of the slightly unusual, this time of year creates the sense that magic is simply an arm’s reach away.

It really is hard to believe that Christmas is only five weeks away and the year is starting to wind down… in the meantime here is a roundup of a few links I am currently loving!

One// J. Crew Women’s New Arrivals

J. Crew’s new arrivals for the holiday season are always so on point; I am seriously tempted to buy everything on the page... Their Plaids and shades of reds they come up with are just such instant classics. P.S. The J. Crew Factory website currently has a holiday section, and it is also simply fabulous!

Two// Sarah Jessica Parker

I just love Sarah Jessica Parker, she always comes across as being so nice and happy, and I am completely loving the fact that she is reprising her role in both Sex in the City and Hocus Pocus. Counting down the days till ‘Just Like That’ premiers on HBO Max!

Three// Winter Street series by Elin Hilderbrand

Pretty much anything that Elin Hilderbrand writes is garneted to be a fantastic read. Her Winter Street series is so perfect for this time of year; the storylines are set in Nantucket at Christmas time… need I say more? There are four books in this series – I am currently on the third one and completely hooked

Four// Tuckernuck Blackwatch Daphne Dress

I have noticed that this classic dress has become a Tuckernuck staple over the years, and should definitely be a closet staple as well. I love how this style of dress can be so easily dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Dress runs true to size

Five// Southern Living Baked Brie Bite

What ever would we do without Southern Living for the holiday season? These Baked Brie Bites are super easy to make and are such a great appetizer for the holidays

Thanksgiving Menu

Earlier today my mom and I were discussing how Christmas and Thanksgiving seem to run together now, or more so than it did ten, twenty, thirty years ago. Growing up I remember Thanksgiving being more of a separate holiday than it is now. I feel like people actually had Thanksgiving decorations… Over the years though it seems like Thanksgiving has kind of become the middle child of the holiday season.

Lately I have trying to be more present in the moment. I feel like this year has just gone by in the blink of the eye, and let’s be honest, sometimes things are just so crazy or time consuming that it is so easy to let time and moments slip through your fingers. I will go ahead and confess that I am much more a Christmas person than I am a Thanksgiving person, but I am also much more a Thanksgiving person than I am a Halloween person {not my favorite holiday…}. I honestly haven’t been that excited about Thanksgiving this year, mainly because I don’t feel like it should be November yet… However, you can either waste time looking in the past or looking too far in the future, or you can be mindfully content and make a point to enjoy, embrace and be in the moment. So, I have chosen the later.

One of my favorite things about most holidays is of course a good tablespace, but most importantly holiday appropriate themed food. I love how the smell of different food evokes a memory from years gone by, spreads merriment, and brings loved ones around a table. I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite Thanksgiving menu staples with you all!

Ina Garten Herb Roasted Turkey Breast// Has anyone else ever noticed that any recipe Ina Garten comes up with is basically perfection on a plate? I have a smaller family, so a decent size turkey breast is the perfect size for us. This is one of the moistest turkeys you will ever eat and what my family plans on having this Thanksgiving!

Ina Garten’s Roasted-Turkey Roulade// If you have a larger gathering of more than 6 or 8, you will need something a little bit more meaningful than a turkey breast, obviously. This turkey roulade is amazing and looks so beautiful on a table. Cannot recommend enough – perfect for larger gatherings!

Ina Garten Make-Ahead Cranberry Sauce// I know, these recipes are getting a little Ina heavy, but I also have recipes for other chefs coming up! This cranberry sauce is to die for! Perfect for Thanksgiving, Christmas, or to go with your weeknight tenderloin. Super easy to make – the only thing I suggest is cook the sauce a little longer than the recipe suggest.

Campbell’s Green Bean Casserole// is a holiday a holiday without the classic Campbell’s Green Bean Casserole? This dish is basically the anchor of any holiday meal – love it!

Williams-Sonoma Pumpkin Dessert Squares// These smell amazing and are so easy to make. Garneted to be a crowd favorite!

Creamy Mac and Cheese// Growing up I was such a picky eater. Needless to say Mac and Cheese was pretty much the only thing I would during holiday meals. This particular recipe is a 10/10, even for those picky you might have around your Thanksgiving table

Bob Evans Mashed Potatoes// Sorry, not sorry, but I highly doubt that any homemade mashed potato recipe could be better than Bob Evans. And honestly, mashed potatoes take some effort… why not go a little easy on yourself and cut a corner here and there

Classic Cornbread Dressing// Since I do live in the South, Cornbread dressing is an absolute must. In my honest opinion, next to the turkey the cornbread dressing is the next most import dish of the Thanksgiving experience. It just binds the entire meal together!

Hostess Gift Guide

Although everyone still needs to be careful, make the decisions that’s best for you/you feel the most comfortable with, and don’t feel pressured into taking part in anything that makes you feel uneasy, I am so glad this holiday season is a little more ‘normal’ than last year.

The hostess gift guide has always been one of my favorite gift guides to put together. I just love Christmas themed kitchen items, plaid home goods, and little happies that just happen to make the best gift for that hostess with the mostess. I think it is saft to say that some effort is undoubtedly required to hostess any type of party/function, but especially at Christmas. Hostess gifts just seem like a nice way to express a token of appreciation, even if it is something as simple as a bottle of wine. Admittedly finding the perfect hostess gift can be a bit of a challenge at times, so without further delay… here is this year’s hostess gift guide!

One// Italian Plaid Throw Blanket

During the fall and winter months, I like to think there is never such a thing as too much plaid. I love the selection of plaid Mark & Graham offers for their throws and the fact that there is a monogram option is just the bow on top of the package.

Two// Juliska Country Estate Winer ‘Merry Christmas’ Gift Tray

Red and white winter scene, yes, please! I love the classic designs Juliska comes up with, but I especially love their Christmas collection. This tray is just the perfect little something

Three// Fresh Sugar Hydrating Lip Value Set

This lip set is just a nice little happy to gift someone. Love the winter days and nights by the fire, but the combination does tend to create dry skin and chapped lips. Fresh lip products are always super hydrating

Four// Pinecone Cut Wine Glasses, Set of 4

Obviously, everyone needs holiday glasses to go with their holiday cocktail!

Five// Set of 4 Merry Napkin Rings

I can never resist a set of napkin rings with a holiday spin, especially when they are gold. These napkin rings are just too cute and would be so easy to mix and match with any place setting or even another set of napkin rings.

Six// Jonathan Adler Brass Tic Tac Toe Game

Obviously, had to include a game for the hostess gift guide. I love how this game is fun, functional, but also pretty enough that you can leave it out on a table as part of your room decor

Seven// Marble Honeycomb Cheese Knives, Set of 3

I’ll go ahead and state the obvious… this knife set isn’t very holiday-ish, but I mean, who can resist items with a tastefully placed bee?

Eight// Nest Candle

My gifting philosophy: when in doubt, a candle is always right. These candles just add a little touch of luxury to any room, and they last for the longest time. Love how this one smells!

Nine// Christopher Radko Christmas Ornament

Christopher Radko Ornaments have such a throwback style to them and will go with basically any holiday décor for that reason. A simple gift that will put a smile on anyone’s face

Ten// Lake Pima Robe in Classic Red

A little extra selfcare is most definitely needed during the holiday season, and Lake robes are also so soft!

P.S. be sure to keep an eye out for gift guide overload! And be sure to order your gifts early this year to make sure you have everything in time for Christmas!

My Nighttime Routine

I feel like nighttime and morning routines are one of those things that are forever evolving and changing due to circumstances, new products, habits, lifestyle, etc.

2020 and 2021 have probably been two of the highest stressed year of basically everyone’s lives. For a little while I was so guilty of falling into the pattern of watching the news, worrying about the future, becoming covid paranoid, was 100% riding different waves of emotions, and going to bed around 2am or 3am in due to a string of constant thoughts running through my mind.

Recently I have been working on being content on where I am in life, letting go of worries I have no control over, and for the most part have eliminated watching the news. Amidst everything my nighttime routine has also changed a little so I thought I would share a new update on what my pre bedtime routine currently looks like.

Low Key Television

Unless it’s the weekend I try to avoid any anxiety inducing tv shows and movies. 90s rom coms are basically my favorite thing to watch, so usually I watch either a feel-good movie or a lighthearted tv show

Yoga

A few months ago, I started doing yoga right before I take a shower at night and it 100% helps me sleep at night and gives me a more peaceful mind frame. If you haven’t tried yoga before bed, I highly recommend you do – it works wonders

Shower

Is there anything better than a long, hot shower at the end of the day? I honestly don’t understand how some people go to bed and/or wakeup without taking a shower… It’s my way of unwinding at night and waking up in the morning

Book on Audio

Before I start doing my nighttime beauty routine, I usually open a book in Audible. I just fished ‘The Paper Palace’ {I know this book has been so popular, but sorry, not sorry… I was not a fan of this book} and will be picking a new and hopefully much better book to listen to tonight.

Nighttime Beauty

I love having a nighttime beauty routine; it’s something small that makes me feel like I am doing something beneficial for myself and I can mentally check out while I’m doing it. I always start off by brushing my teeth, then I move on to applying my face and eye cream {currently using this and this}, and then I use a rose quartz roller to finish off the process.

Bedtime

Lastly, I turn down my bed, climb in, and read a book until I start to feel tired

October Reading List

I am in slight shock that we are already well into the month of November; I am honestly in shock of how fast the year has gone by – I feel like it just started. It seems like October was already a year ago, but I was able to read some fabulous books last month and highly recommend all of them!

The Light Between Oceans, by M.L. Stedman

This book has been on my books to read list for the longest time, and it did not disappoint. Full disclosure, this book does have a bittersweet ending, but still worth the read!

Tom, a lighthouse keeper, and his wife, Isabel, have tried for years for a baby of their own, but unfortunately that dream never becomes a reality. After a few miscarriages and a stillbirth, Isabel hears a baby crying on the small island. She and her husband find a boat with a deceased man and a small baby girl. Isabel views the new baby as a gift from God and an answer to her prayers, but Tom who keeps meticulous records and follows the rules fights an internal battle of wheatear to report the man and infant or give into his wife’s desire.

The Last List of Miss Judith Kratt, by Andrea Bobotis

I listened to this book on Audio, and it has an amazing narrator and a good storyline. An unexpected visit from Judith’s wayward sister helps Judith to piece together the influence of her on their small cotton town and unearth a few dark family secrets.

Rock Paper Scissors, by Alice Feeney

Confession: I bought this book solely based on the fact that I really love the cover. If you are a fan of psychological thrillers than this book is most definitely a book for you. Rock Paper Scissors is an intricately spun web with a few unexpected twists and turns.

The Chicken Sisters, by Kj Dell’Antonia

This is another book that has been on my ‘books to read’ list for the longest time, and has actually been sitting on my nightstand for at least two months {shameful, I know}. Reese Witherspoon picked another great book to add to her book club.

In the small town of Merinac Chicken Mimi’s and Chicken Frannie’s have been in a battle of who has the best fried Chicken. The legendary feud has attracted the attention of a reality TV cooking show. Through out the production family secrets are exposed and small feud between sisters is stirred to make for an even more interesting TV production experience.

Christmas in Peachtree Bluff, by Kristy Woodson Harvey

I was so excited when I learned that Kristy Woodson Harvey was working on a fourth installment for the Peachtree Bluff series. This book is simply fabulous and I cannot recommend it enough! Click here to read a more in depth review of the book.

Apples Never Fall, by Liane Moriarty

100% recommend this book, especially for those who enjoy a bit of suspense. The four Delaney siblings and their parents are a fixture in their town, establishing themselves as a tennis family and the owners of a tennis academy. One day Joy, the mother send a text to her children informing all of them that she will be taking a trip. Once a few days go by, and no one has heard from her, concerns start to grow. Eventually two of her children report he absence to the police and an investigation is opened bringing the family into a whole new light of speculation.
