Good Morning 2018

There is a part of me that is always a little said to close the book on another year and see the holiday season come and end…good news though, Christmas is only 358 days away {too soon?}! I have a feeling that 2018 is going to be a year of change and I am excited to see what the next 365 days have in store for us. I forget who fist said it, but I completely love the concept that today is the very first page in a 365 page book that is just waiting to be written on and filled with memories. I have a few New Year’s Goals/Resolutions that I’ll be back with later on this week, but I don’t have them all pinned down yet…
2017 was kind of a hectic year just in the sense that there seemed to always be something going on with family and otherwise, so this year I am hoping for smooth sailing ahead.

Along with some of my standard New Year’s resolutions of being more grateful, eating healthier, reading more, be more on time {I’m always late…practically everywhere I go} etc. I have also been toying around with the idea of  making concentrating on myself more a New Year’s resolution… I realized that this probably sounds like one of the most selfish New Year’s resolutions in the history of resolutions, but I am that type of person that will help anyone with anything not matter what it is and drop what I’m doing without a second thought. Which is a quality that I still plan to keep in tact, but over the past couple months I‘ve been going to bed at 2 or 3 in the morning doing things I should have done during the day, I haven’t been great about working out a few days every week {it seriously makes all the difference}, and I haven’t been eating breakfast on a regular basis {another thing that makes a big difference}. In short I need to be healthier and it always seems like once you start concentrating on yourself a little bit more {as selfish as that sounds} everything else just kind of seems to fall into place.

Another resolutions I’ve been playing around with, which is going to sound a lot less selfish than the last, is to be more present in the moment. Whenever I am out I probably check my phone at least five times during the span of an hour {I’m kind of a phone addict…} and I am always thinking about things that need to be done. This kind of goes with being more present in the moment, but I am great at taking pictures of ‘pretty things’ but I always forget to take pictures of people, on special dates, etc. So overall just learn to savor the moments, big or small, and to be better at documenting memories.

What are some of your New Year’s Goals/Resolutions?

  2. I absolutely love your goal of being more present! We all are so reliant on social media and I know I use my phone to distract me all the time!
