SummerSalt Warehouse Sale

The first ever SummerSalt Warehouse Sale is currently underway! The entire site is 30% off, so needless to say, the sale selection is simply amazing!!! I feel like it is always so hard to find a swimsuit, especially a one-piece, that is flattering, provides the right amount of coverage and support, and is either classic or stylish. SummerSalt sent me The Sidestroke one-piece last week along with a few other pieces, and I can say from personal experience that their swimsuits check all of the above: flattering, supportive, covers enough, and overall just a really great quality piece.

For the past few summers, I have been on the hunt for a classic looking one-piece, but could never really find one that I ‘loved’. I love the SummerSalt one-piece I received so much that I ordered a few pieces from the sale… The Bow-Shoulder Ruched Sidestroke is my favorite, mainly because of the bow element, but also, it’s super flattering! I honestly think that everyone needs at least one SummerSalt swimsuit in their wardrobe! I have rounded up a few of my favorite suits that are included in the warehouse sale! P.S. for my tall friend out there – SummerSalt also offers a large selection of their swimsuits in long torso!! Code does not apply to sale items, but for any future purchases you may make from SummerSalt, you can use my code: LAURENJS10 at checkout to receive $10 towards your purchase!!

A Red, White, & Blue Summer

Minus the humidity, I absolutely everything about the summer season: the food, fashion, summer themed movies, ice cream, refreshments, summer holidays, and the official colors of the season: red, white, and blue! The summer wind has blown in and has bought some truly beautiful items as well!

There are so many cute red, white, and blue items available right now, and I thought it would be so fun to share a few of my favorites with you all!

Sarah Flint Mirjana Wedge in Amalfi Blue Vachetta & Raffia

I really feel like blue is a neutral and this shade of blue would go with so many outfits, especially during the summer season. I absolutely love how these wedges have extra padding and arch support, plus let’s not forget to mention how beautiful the design is! Use code: SARAHFLINT-BALAURENAID to receive $50 off your first pair of Sarah Flint shoes!

The Ellie Nap Dress

I strongly believe there is never such a thing as owning too many Ellie Nap Dresses. This shade of red is so flattering and so perfect for the summer season!

SummerSalt The Ruffle Backflip Swimsuit

SummerSalt just released this new print last week and I completely adore the blue and white design. I have become such a fan of SummerSalt swimsuits! They are incredibly flattering, hug you in all the right places, provide the right amount of support, and as long as you follow their size guide, all of their swimsuits should fit true to size. Use code: LAURENJS10 at checkout to receive $10 towards your SummerSalt purchase!

24oz American Flag Tervis Tumbler

Tervis Tumbler is without a doubt a summer must-have! I have such a weak spot for anything with a flag on it, especially during this time of year. Tervis Tumblers are the perfect addition to any outdoor gathering and these glasses would be so perfect for a Fourth of July celebration!

Mi Golondrina Soledad Short Dress Soledad Marino Celebration Floral

Mi Golodrina dresses are one of my favorite go-to items for any hot summer day. I love the fact that they have added a Fourth of July shopping section to their website to make dressing for a holiday just that much easier!

Tuckernuck Slate Blue American Sweater

I feel like this is such a perfect year round sweater. The shade of blue is so flattering and it is complete with an American flag. This is a sweater that can give you a little warmth on a cool summer night and cozy hug on those cold winter nights spent by a fire!

SunnyLife Puzzle Bondi Icebergs

Anyone else a puzzle nerd?!?! This is just such a beautiful puzzle and it is currently on sale for $12!

Anthropologie Somerset Mini Skit in Red

You can never go wrong with a red skirt or red shorts for the summer. Plus, I love how they look with a white or navy top {or maybe white and navy!}. The waistline and bow tie on this particular skirt is just so flattering and fun! Perfect for any casual summer event!

Blissy Pillowcase

I have been using various silk pillowcases for about three years now, and I can safely say that I will never go back to a cotton pillowcase. About a month ago Blissy sent me one of their silk pillowcases {click here to shop mine}, and after using their silk pillowcase for about a month, I can confidently say that Blissy is the only silk pillowcase I will be using going forward.

They have been featured in countless magazines, and I am almost embarrassed to say that I had not heard of Blissy till one of their team member reached out to me. The quality of their pillow is amazing. Compared to the one I normally use I feel like Blissy pillowcases are a little thicker, wrinkle less, and keep their shape. I’m not sure what other competing brands make their silk pillowcases with, but Blissy uses 100% mulberry silk for theirs, and I really think that single factor makes all the difference.

Blissy pillowcases are supposed to improve your skin and hair, are hypoallergenic, and naturally regulates its temperature preventing night sweats, and they are non-toxic. After a month of sleeping on a Blissy pillowcase I can honestly say they are a brand who is everything they advertise themselves to be!

I can 100% percent tell a difference in both my hair and the quality of my skin. I have naturally curly hair and tends to get a little dried out of night, but with Blissy the texture of my hair feels the same when I go to bed and when I wake it – making my hair so much easier to touch up on those non hair wash. I have also noticed an improvement in the quality of my skin; you tell which side of my face I slept on, and Blissy pillowcase leaves little to no sleep line on my face.

I honestly cannot recommend this product enough! It is hands down one of the softest pillowcases I have every laid my head on. Blissy is a brand who is truly everything they advertise themselves to be!

Sunday Night Thought

My Recent Favorite Purchases

After the streak of cold weather that seemed to last forever… In Nashville it was seriously colder on Easter than it was for Christmas this past year… I am so ready to embrace all things summer fashion! I have so loved all the collections that have come out so far this summer. The styles, colors, dresses, and patterns, and just so pretty and flattering {and really, really tempting}. The many shades of blue is a personal favorite of mine! I thought it would be fun to share a few of my most recent favorite purchases with you all!

Golden Goose Midstar Glitter Sneaker

I honestly didn’t think Golden Goose shoes were really my style until I gave in and purchased a pair just to see if they lived up to the hype, and they most definitely do. I few like there are a few things in life that you never really outgrow, and glitter is one of those things {at least for me}. I love the neutral color of these shoes and the fact that they can be worn all year long

Sarah Flint Grear Sandal in White Vachetta

Confession: I have these sandals in five different colors… I am fully convinced that they are the perfect spring/summer/early fall sandal. I’m always apprehensive about buying white sandals just because I’m so fair, but the shade of white is actually really flattering, and I think they would complement any skin tone! Use Code: SARAHFLINT-BALAURENAID for $50 off your first Sarah Flint shoe purchase!

Hill House Home The Camilla Skirt

I am so in love with the print of this skirt, and it is also offered in the Nap Dress and the Elizabeth Dress! This skirt is currently sold out, but I have a feeling that if you keep an out you’ll be able to grab one for yourself – it runs a little small so I think a few people will return this item… I highly recommend going up one or two sizes in this particular skirt

Cassarette Women’s Spin Slip

Not the most exciting, but if you purchased either the Hill House Ellie Nap Dress in Lace or in Tulle this slip works perfectly with either of those dresses and it’s only $11!

Mi Golondrina Bridget Valeria Dress

I love the color, pattern, and how flattering this dress is! I will say the smocking is a little tight, so I would size up one size from what you normally would wear in this brand

Sarah Flint Natalie Sling

By this point it probably goes without saying that I have done a decent bit of shoe shopping this month… The Sarah Flint Natalie Sling is one of my most favorite things ever made, period. I purchased the Natalie Sling in Gold Saffiano, and plan to purchase it in Petal Calf very soon. I honestly can’t get over how comfortable they! They have 360 padding and a hidden elastic on the strap which makes it perfect for those warm summer days. I love the style of these shoes, the feminine touch the asymmetrical adds, and the fact that they are so timeless and classic. I honestly think these might be more comfortable than some running shoes; I honestly think everyone needs to have at least one pair of Natalie Slings as part of their wardrobe {they’ll be your most favorite item}! Use code: SARAHFLINT-BALAURENAID for $50 off your first pair of Sarah Flint shoes!!

Hutch High-Waisted Gingham Midi Skirt

I love the retro feel the waistband adds to this skirt. I feel like it is such a classic item to add to your closet, and lets be honest, gingham is basically the unofficial fabric of summer – can you ever having too many gingham items? {asking for a friend…} Absolutely love this skirt!

Links I'm Loving

Who else is so glad that the Friday has finally rolled around? I feel like this week went by in the blink of an eye, and I have been so tired for some, which probably hasn’t helped. I am definitely ready for a relaxing weekend and a little sunshine!

One// Sarah Flint New Arrivals

Sarah Flint has come out with so many beautiful new shoes over the last few weeks and I am really tempted to buy one of each… The gold Mirjana Wedge is most definitely calling my name… Be sure to use code: SARAHFLINT-BALAURENAID for $50 off your first purchase!

Two// Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee

I think we can all agree that there were moments when Prince Louis completely stole the show. I love the entire Royal Family, but Queen Elizabeth is by far my favorite. It is amazing that she has been on the thrown for seventy years and the amount of things she has seen and the influence she has had in her lifetime is just amazing!

Three// Nap Dress Summer

If you haven’t hopped on the Nap Dress bandwagon yet, then you are seriously missing out. Their dresses are so comfortable and I love their newest maxi skirt that was just released in their summer collection!

Four// Mi Golondrina Fourth of July

I cannot believe that we are almost halfway through the month of June and companies are already starting to advertise their Fourth of July items! If you are looking for a little red, white, and blue something to add to your wardrobe then you definitely need to take a peek at Mi Golondrina’s newest collection.

Five// Southern Living Florida Keys Hotel Offers an Underwater Library of Waterproof Reads

Can every beach resort have a library of water proof books? I am a little OCD with my books and even take them to the beach in a zip-loc bag… I hate when the salt air and moisture makes the pages wavey… but I guess you can say it gives the book character. Still, I feel like a library of waterproof books is a

The Horsewoman

I read a string of not-so-great books in April and only had time to read one book in May, so I am glad to start off June with a book that was actually pretty good! Quick disclaimer: I have never been around the horse world or even ridden a horse, so I don’t know if the terms or show horse proceedings are correct, but if you are a horse person, you will either love this book or not. Personally, know nothing about that world, I absolutely loved The Horsewoman!

The Horsewoman by James Patterson and Mike Lupica follows the story of a mother {Maggie} and daughter {Becky}, and of course the Matriarch of the family, Caroline. A string of events sets both Maggie and Becky on the path to the Olympics, competing against each other every step of the way.

The story starts out with Maggie falling off her horse on a run of the mill trail ride. The family decides that if Maggie is not able to Maggie’s horse, Coronado, then Becky should. The only issue is that Caroline and Maggie own just 40% of Coronado, and the other 60% belongs to a shrewd businessman from New York who is less than thrilled about Becky ridding the horse.

Maggie being determined as ever recovers from her fall in record time and takes her house back over. She encourages Becky to still pursue her new Olympic dream, and continue to compete on her own horse, Sky. Both mother and daughter have their ups and downs on their journey, and each step along the way is filled with its own sense of drama and suspense.

I feel like this book was a little off the beaten path for Patterson, who is usually known for his mystery novels, but he exceled at creating a completive world of sports and developing both a protagonist and antagonist. Highly recommend this book!
