Managing Your Time

I am quite possibly one of the worst time management people you will ever know. I am usually on time {aka five minutes late} to the very first place I have to be in the morning and after that I get progressively later throughout the day. This is a little embarrassing to admit, but on more than one occasion I have been 30 minutes to a dinner date…pretty terrible, I know...

It used to be a little bit more acceptable to run a bit behind time, but now that I’m older it’s a trait I’m trying to break which is not as easy as you might think. Below are a few things I have been doing lately to help myself be a little more on time.

Stop listening to music// I always listen to music when I am getting ready to go somewhere. A pretty simple habit that most people do, but I can be ready to walk out the door a full 15 minutes sooner if I don’t listen to music.

Checking E-Mail and/or social media accounts// The phone can be like a black hole of wasted time for me. I can get on there to respond to a quick email and end up watching a 20-minute long cooking video on YouTube

Leave Earlier// Recently I have been leaving the house about 5 minutes sooner than I need to, and let me just say that 5 minutes sounds like a small amount of time, but wow! what a difference 5 minutes can make

Prepare The Night Before// At night I have started to spend about thirsty minutes to an hour getting organized for he next day. It makes it so musch easier to just hit the ground sooner

Set The Clocks a Little Ahead of Time// I am one of those people who will let the clock wind down to its very last minute, so I have started setting my write watches a little earlier

Fall Favorites

I honestly cannot believe that Halloween has already come. Truth be told, the only reason I like Halloween is because it seems to usher in all the holiday events and occasions. I know I am a little late on this but I thought is would be fall to share a few of my blog favorites with you all.
Bell Bottoms// I kind of can’t believe that bell bottoms are back in style again and I am kind of loving it! I just bought these bell bottom corduroys from Anthropologie and I seriously cannot get enough of them!

Pecan Pumpkin Butter// Williams Sonoma pecan pumpkin butter has to be one of the best/most addicting fall creations ever, at least food wise.

Capes// Come fall and wintertime I love me a cape. Last month I purchased this cape {complete with monogram} in the traditional Barbour plaid and I have worn it almost every other day. It’s so comfortable; it’s honestly like wearing a stylish throw around town

LBD {sweater style}// When it comes to little black dresses, my two rules are: 1) you can never have too many LBDs 2) You should have at least one LBD for every season

Apotheke Fireside Candle// Hi, candle enthusiast over here. This is pretty much the perfect essence of fall!

Slides// I am loving the slider trend when it comes to the shoe world – it’s just such a retro chic look that is very polished. By the way, I am so crushing on thes eshoes, pink and a velvet touch – I’ll take one pair please!

Riding Boots// Riding Boots are pretty much one of the most basic fall staples to have; if you invest in a classic pair you will have them for at least five years. Tory Burch always seems to have some of the best boot designs and they always fit perfectly. I have way too many boots, but I am so tempted to buy these

Leather Charger Roll Up// Mark & Graham has become one of my go-to places for buying gifts; they literally have something for everyone one on your list, and they even have gifts for those special furry animals! The holiday season is without a doubt, what some might call ‘a high travel season’. I’m always on the look out for fun travel gifts, and this would be such a perfect gift for that techy traveler in your life!

Chloe Coat// If you haven’t heard of Lauren James you need to go check out their website ASAP. Usually their spotlight season is spring/summer, but this year they have taken their fall/winter game to a whole new level of fabulous. The Chloe Coat, has to be one of the prettiest coats this season; it is perfectly girly, yet sophisticated

Faux FurT hrows// There is nothing better than curling up with a cozy furry throw on a cold night to watch a movie. I purchased this throw last year and It is like being wrapped up in a cloud of perfection.

What I've Been Watching On Netflix

I’m not a big TV person, but I am a huge Netflix person. Binge watching is my Friday night downfall. At the risk of sounding boring there is nothing more relaxing than to end the week with a hot shower, curl up in bed, just zone out and watch Netflix.
The Midwife// I’ll admit, this show is probably a show that requires you to be in a certain mindset, but I completely love it. The production style of the show is somewhere along the line that Downton Abby and The Crown are done in. The show follows a group of midwives living on the outskirts of London post World War II, and the costuming and storyline is just so captivating.

Sabrina// When ever I think about Sabrina, I think of Melissa Joan Hart, the two fun aunts, and that 90’s feel good vibe that all the sitcoms of that time period seemed to give off. The new Netflix version is the complete opposite of the 90’s family friendly one. It’s honestly a little dark, but still fun to watch.

The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society// Incase you can’t tell, I absolutely love time period books and movies, especially those that are set in the 1920s – 1960’s; it just seems like such a fascinating time in history. Lilly James play the main role and it is just so becoming of her that you will feel like she is an entirely different person.
