2018 New Year's Goals

We probably all have heard a saying along the lines of  New year, New feels, same dreams, fresh start’ but we can always have a few new dreams to ad to our New Year’s goals. As I have said before, I always find New Year’s Eve to be a little bitter sweet, but I always think New Year’s Day is exciting. It is like the clock has restarted, you have a chance to right your wrongs, improve yourself, and make some New Year’s Goals/Resolutions. As the saying goes…’it’s the first blank page of a 365-page book. Write a good one’.

I’ve found the trick to sticking to you New Year’s Goal is to make goals you are passionate and excited, versus the ones you feel obligated to makes, which probably won’t get crossed off you list. So...here are some of my New Year’s Goals I have come up with!

Fitness// I know it is not some people’s thing, but working out is something I really enjoy. I fell off the wagon in October and have not been that great about working out on a regular basis. There are just so many benefits: I’m able to think better, sleep better, I make healthier choices, and not to mention it keeps you in shape!

Sleep// Starting at the end of September I felt like I was on from one thing to the next and have been going to bed way toooo late. This year I’m going to aim to go to bed around 11 and hopefully that will be something that actually happens – I’m just all around a better person when I have the proper amount of sleep.

Cooking// I can bake, but I have never been all that into cooking. Dealing with sugar and sweets is so much more appealing to me than trimming a chicken and handling raw meat. However, I do want to eat healthier this year and you just can’t beat the quality of food that comes out o your own kitchen.

Be more present in the moment// With technology and all the social media platforms out there it can sometimes be hard to be present in the moment. I am somewhat of a phone addict and even find myself reaching for it when I have purposefully put it in a different room. So this year I am going to try to be more present in the moment and soak in time spent with the people I love and care about.

Read More// I could honestly go on a vacation right now, sit by the water somewhere and just read for days after the holidays. I didn’t read as many books as I would have liked to read this year, so I am aiming to read a new book every other week, which will be 26 book for the year!

Writing// I am going to aim to blog at least once a day and twice a day sometimes. I also want to start a bullet journal, they look like so much fun, and start writing a book {the storyline is still TBD}

Be more personal// I kind of shy away from personal topics on the blog and so one of my goals this year is to be more personal.

YouTube Channel// not so much a goal as more of a question for you all. I have had a few people contact me wanting me to start a YouTube channel; I’m entertaining the idea a little bit and was wondering if you all would like to see me start a YouTube channel?
