Free People Accessories

There is a part of me that likes to venture out of my Lilly Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, and J. Crew look; an other wise classic look. There is a side to me that likes to be trendy, fashion forward, and likes the bohemian/hippie look. I have to say I do love Free People in all their boho chicness! I guess since Anthropologie technically owns Free People and a decent amount of things in their store contain lace, I’m not too far out of my comfort zone, plus I do gravitate to their more traditional items, but still. Some of my favorite items from Free People are actually their accessories. I especially love their socks; I have what some might call a sock obsession, to full understand you’d have to read my post, “A Love Affair With Socks” {Click Here}. I also really like some of their tights, slips, and other wonderful accessories. The material Free People uses always feels wonderful and I love the whimsical look and design of some of their things.

Last night I found one of Free People’s ad campaigns, which of course inspired this post. I love the story and music that goes along with the video, it is honestly the cutest ad campaign I have seen this year. Here are some of my favorite Free People accessories plus a few extras, and of course, the video is included at the end of this post! 55 South

Over the weekend I went with my family to 55 South to celebrate my father’s birthday. This was my first time to dine at 55 South; it’s not as close to where I live as some other restaurants, but the food was fabulous! Just to give you some back information on 55 South…the name refers to the interstate that connects Memphis and New Orleans; the menu reflects the food you would find traveling along that section of interstate. The owner of the restaurant graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY. The overall restaurant has a very rustic Southern feel, to go along with the ambience the menu is made-up of delicious Southern comfort food.
The menu is displayed under the glass tabletop, so it is handy the whole time you dine.
The Lump Crab and Artichoke Dip was the best I have had since the summer; it is definitely the best I have had in Nashville. The lump crab and artichoke were perfectly mixed together with a little cheese melted on top. I really enjoyed how the corn chips were closer to the texture of pita chip and they weren’t over salted, which is a major plus in my book.
The Seafood Gumbo Soup contained the traditional Southern ingredients and I really like the kick of spiciness the soup had to it. It would be perfect on a cold day!
For the main course I ordered the Pimento BLT, mainly because it had two of my favorite things on it: pimento cheese and fried green tomato. The pimento cheese was wonderful, but the best Fried Green tomato I have had have been from the Tin Angel, and 55 South came close but they weren’t quit as good, but definitely a second best. The sandwich on a whole though was definitely a winner! The side of Sweet Potatoes Fries was amazing!
If you are ever in Franklin, TN 55 South is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy some delicious Southern comfort food.

Cable Knits & Cashmere

Nothing says fall to me quite like a cable knit sweater does, and if it just so happens to be cashmere that is just the icing on the cake! Cashmere is a wonderful sweater material to wear on those warmer fall and winter days; it is light and breathable, plus it is soft beyond words. There is something just oh so classic about a cable knit sweater that never seems to go out of style. I love how you can take this item, style it with accessories to reflect your style and own it! For this fall and winter season here are a few timeless cable knits that you can style to your liking and look absolutely fabulous in! Southern Decor

Down South there are beautiful old houses that have seen wars, hard times, scandal, deals, love stories, weddings, generations of family, and so much more. The incredible stories these houses could tell if only the walls could talk. I love how an old house can stand so stoic and elegant, with gorgeous greenery and landscaping surrounding an equally gorgeous house. Whenever you go into a Southern home more times then not you will see blue & white dishes, silver, wallpaper with beautiful designs, fresh flowers, breathtaking mirrors, lovely chandeliers, and family photos, just to name a few traditional Southern home décor. I created a décor collage on Polyvore {my first} of a few simply southern home décor items. Enjoy!

This Autumn Fall Into Lilly

Lilly Pulitzer is typically known for her bright colors, bold patterns, dresses, and is usually associated with the spring and summer seasons. Lilly Pulitzer not only does Spring and summer clothes beautifully, she also does fall fabulously! Just because the leaves are falling and the cold weather is on it’s way, it is not an excuse to give up Lilly Pulitzer’s fun prints and bright colors. After all, some Southern girls consider Lilly Pulitzer to be their favorite color; if a Southern Belle was told she couldn’t wear Lilly till springtime, I fear she might faint on the spot! Here are some of my fall favorites from Lilly Pulitzer to add a splash of color to your fall wardrobe, and get you through those cold days! Click on the name of the item for the link.

Pillow Talk

I have to admit I am slightly obsessed with pillows! I love how decorative pillows have the ability to add a splash of color and brightness to a room, make a space a little more exciting, or make a statement. I also have to say I am slightly envious of the room above. The mirror is beyond beautiful and I would have never thought to use bright pink pillows; they work beautifully with the room the pink pillows just make everything pop! Here are some beautiful and fun pillows to add a little splash of color and an element of excitement to your room! Click on the name of the pillow, located below the image, for the link.

Beautiful Shoes Of J.Crew

Last week I came across the J. Crew, “Shiny Ponies” video; which is all about shoes with their incredible creative director, Jenna Lyons, as the speaker in the video. If you haven’t read about Jenna Lyons {aka the woman who dresses America} you really should look her story up! Millard S. Drexler, J. Crew’s chief executive, once described Lyons as “one of the most talented, trained, intuitive and commercial designers I have ever met”. Lyons is a true fashion icon with an inspirational story of how she worked her way up to executive creative director of J. Crew

The “Shiny Ponies” video I came across last week inspired me to share some of my favorite J. Crew shoes for this Fall Season. J. Crew truly does have beautiful quality shoes made in Italy. I love the variety in the J.Crew shoe collection; I feel like anyone could pickup a J. Crew magazine and find a pair of shoes in a style and print that they just can’t help but love. Here are a few of my favorite J. Crew shoe picks, but first the video that first inspired this post, enjoy! Click on the name of the shoe, located below the picture, for the link.

Tortoiseshell iPhone Cases

Lately I have seen tortoiseshell print on practically everything: glasses, sunglasses, wine glasses, dishes, necklaces, earrings, hair accessories, bracelets, and now… iPhone cases! The tortoiseshell print is such a timeless print to have on anything; it is classic chic. The browns and gold tones used to create a tortoiseshell design is the perfect print for the Fall Season. Here are a few beautiful Tortoiseshell iPhone cases I have come across. Click one the name of the case located below the image for the link.

Tory Burch Fragrance

This weekend when I went to the mall I made a quick trip to the Tory Burch store, and to my delight they were giving out samples of the new fragrance! I think it is safe to say that Tory Burch knocked the ball out of the park with her first perfume; it is absolutely divine! Tory Burch worked with Estee Lauder to create the fragrance {available in 30, 50 and 100 ml}, which has a very clean, light, flowery smell. The notes include grapefruit, pink pepper, currant buds and leaves, mandarin and neroli, peony, tuberose, mimosa, jasmine, carrot seed, alyssum, vetiver, cedar, sandalwood, and white musk. I love everything about this fragrance; how feminine, light, and airy the fragrance is, the packaging, the design of the bottle; everything about this fragrance has been done to the point of perfection!
