Rainy Day Styling

Rainy Day Styling

Friday morning I woke up with one of the most annoying colds {colds in the summer are by far worse to have than a winter cold} by Friday night I was dead tired. I ended up staying inside all day Saturday because it was raining, I was tired, and had a cold, so it was a perfect day to have a movie day. However, today if I stayed in again I am pretty convinced I would get cabin fever. In Nashville today it is still raining off and on and is a little chilly outside right now, so I am all about being comfortable yet stylish today. Above is my rainy day outfit inspiration I created on Polyvore. Click on the picture to be directed to the website where you will be able to find all of the above items.

Happy National Bow Tie Day

If there’s one thing men in the South can do well it’s tie a bow tie, so of course National Bow Tie is near and dear to some down here. I have to admit I have a weak spot for a man wearing a bow tie when it is worn in the right setting. I hope all remembered to sport their bow tie for National Bow Tie Day but incase you didn’t or are in need of a bow tie to add to the tie collection here are my top bow tie picks!

2.             ChurchillDot Bow In Navy
3.             WhaleBow Tie
4.             AzaleaBow Tie Blue

Take A Deep Breath & Relax

relax

Earlier when I came home I was exhausted, I literally just wanted to sit down, be lazy, and do nothing. I think it’s safe to say that when it comes to “lounge” clothes everyone has a favorite combination that is their go-to hangout/relax outfit. For me my favorite thing to put on to relax in is the Voile and Lace Trapeze Slip from Free People paired with leggings and if it is a cold night I add a cardi and some socks to my hangout outfit. Today when I came home I walked my dog, took a shower, put on my favorite Voile and Lace Trapeze Slip with leggings, of course, and let me tell you I was so exhausted I don’t think it has ever felt so good to sit down, read a book, and just relax.

What do you do/wear to relax?

J. Crew Vintage Fall Covers

I used to love getting the J. Crew fall catalog in the mail because of the magazine covers that so perfectly capture the essence of fall whether it be books, sweater, or the changing leaves. Not to sound like a grandmother but I am partial to their older magazine covers just because they are so perfectly fall and fun.

Hunter Boots

{via}
HunterBoots are probably the only pair of shoes that I wear year round and definitely the only pair of boots that can be worn in the summer. A good pair of rain boots is hands down a necessity. With fall right around the corner and school starting back I strongly suggest you invest in a good pair of Hunter rain boots; you won’t be sorry when you are trekking across campus on a rainy day or out running errands, etc. I have found that one of the biggest struggles one seems to face when purchasing their first pair of Hunter rain boots is deciding which color to get. For your first pair of hunter rain boots I would stick to the classic colors and fit and if you are one who appreciates a pop of color I would go with red because, well… you really can’t go wrong with red. Here are my top four color picks if it is your first time purchasing a pair of Hunter boots!

Sunday Night Thought

My Night Time Routine

I am always interested to read what others makeup, workout, bedtime, etc. routine is; since I am in the process of getting ready for bed I thought it would be fitting to share my night time routine.

1.      Every night before I go to bed I take a long hot shower which helps me to unwind and relax
2.    After my shower I always opt for my most comfortable pair of pajamas that are currently in my dresser. I have to admit when it come to my pajamas I probably look a little on the nerdy side going to bed… I usually wear legging type pajamas and than if it is really cold I wear a pair of socks that go up to at least my knee cap.
3.    When I am all showered and have my pajamas on I turn down my bed and slip under the covers
4.    Once in bed I check my email, facebook, instagram, other social media, and try to write a blog post or two
5.    After spending time on the computer I am usually a little wound up. To calm back down, relax so I can have a peaceful nights rest I read for about 15-30 mins. I just bought two new books today, The Vacationers and 2 A.M. at The Cat’s Pajamas. I am debating which to read first, my level of excitement whenever I buy a new book might be considered a little ridiculous
6.    When I get to a state where I feel like I can fall asleep I close my book, check my phone, set my alarm, and go off to dreamland.
