I am
pretty sure I am not alone when I say this, but Royal watching is my guilty
pleasure. Queen Elizabeth is the definition of and the original #GirlBoss.
Princess Charlotte is basically the Queens mini-me; is it wrong that I want to
be best friends with a 92 year old and a 3 year old… Kate Middleton and Prince
William’s story is what Disney movies are mad of. Prince Harry {aka the wild
child} was only to be tamed by an American. Then there is Princess Diana, who
is bound to go down in history, along side Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy as
a timeless fashion icon.
I am
obviously quit enamored with the Royal Family. With a Queen who is as
accomplished as theirs, the air of real life enchantment that seems to follow
them around, and the slightly scandalous events that take place every now and
then, who can resist logging onto a computer to find out the latest gossip
about the ever so illusive royals?
With Princess Eugenie’s wedding this past weekend I couldn’t help but work a little
Royal wedding bliss into my post schedule this week, along whit a look back at
some of the more memorable haute couture wedding dresses.
I know
Grace Kelly is not a member of the English Royals, but she will forever be not
only my favorite royal, but actress as well. Grace Kelly’s wedding dress is
unarguably one of the most stunning and classic wedding dresses that have ever
been made. I completely love the fact that Kate Middleton drew inspiration for
her own dress from Grace Kelly’s and modernized the design. She really did look
like a burnet Cinderella on her wedding day.
Since
Meghan and Prince Harry just had their wedding I feel a little obligated to
include her dress in this post. I know some of you will be offended by this
statement, but I was honestly underwhelmed by Meghan’s dress. The lines and the
style hung beautifully on her, but the dress was a bit too plain for me. I know
that her dress couldn’t top Kate’s, but it could have at least been on par with
Pippa’s.
Princess
Eugenie and her sister had their questionable fashion moments back in the day,
but their style has evolved and her wedding dress was absoutly stunning. I kind
of love the fact that she went against tradition and forewent the veil. After
all, the back of her dress was too beautiful to cover up, and her tiara choice
more than made up for the absence of a veil.
Of
course, I had to save the most loved royal for last, Queen Elizabeth. You
really have to hand it to the Queen, she still going strong at 92 – horse back
ridding everyday, making time for her family, dinner parties, and ruling a
country; she is a pretty incredible woman. Her and Prince Phillip made such a
dashing couple for their day and the train and dress she wore was a show
stopper.

To Get Married?
