As y’all know in the South we
love Coca-Cola, or as it is more commonly referred to, Coke. Southerners even
include Coke in recipes: Coke Float, Cola Cake, Coca-Cola Ham, and so on,
needless to say Coke is quite popular down here. As this is the South and all,
I just happen to have a Coca-Cola coffee table book, Coca-Cola Girls: An
Advertising Art History, by Chris H. Beyer. This is a terrific book with
factual information and beautiful photos of Coke advertisements throughout the
company’s history. I absolutely love all the Coca-Cola ads from the early 1900s
to present time. I think it is safe to say the Coca-Cola Company has mastered
the art of advertisement. One of the most well known Coca-Cola advertisements would
probably be Santa drinking a Coke. The Coca-Cola Company first come up with the
concept in the early 1930s; the Coca-Cola Santa advertisements continue to be
associated with the Holiday season even in present times. I made an Instagram video {my first} of a
couple of my favorite parts of the book. Enjoy!
