Guest Post :: 5 Best Vacation Destinations For Adventurous Couples

With summer right on the horizon it is the perfect time to plan a fun getaway. Not going to lie, I always start getting a case of wanderlust right after the middle of February passes; everything is just so cold and the days are so short and all I can think about is the beach and warmer weather. I always associate the summer season with the perfect time for travel {probably not alone in that thought} and Peter Minkoff is sharing 5 fabulous vacations for those of you who have an adventurous soul in todays guest post!
There’s nothing wrong with going on a romantic vacation and spending your time sunbathing on the beach or swimming in a pool. However, if you and your partner are more on the adventurous side, then you might want to consider a bit more exciting destinations. If you like this idea, here are five best vacation destination for adventurous couples.

Hawaii
Hawaii offers you the best of both worlds, since you can enjoy the amazing scenery by both sunbathing on the beach and zip-lining above the forests. If you are experienced hikers, you should consider hiking along the 11-mile Kalalau Trail, or the 2-mile trail to Hanakapiai Beach. There are also many opportunities for kayaking, horseback riding, and water sports. And of course, you can always take a romantic walk along the beach and enjoy the sunset. So, if you’re looking for a destination that can be both relaxing and adventurous, you should definitely visit Hawaii.
Canada

If you like winter and all its wonders, consider visiting Canada. There is an amazing ice hotel near Quebec, which is open during the winter season from January to March. It’s made entirely of ice and snow, which also means that it has to be rebuilt every year. Moreover, the hotel has a nice gallery where there are usually many fun events, like ice sculpting and ice painting. As for the more dynamic adventures, you can go skiing, ice skating, ice fishing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, and pretty much do anything that can be done on snow or ice. Therefore, if you’re the winter type, this would definitely be a trip to remember.

China
What a better way to satisfy your need for adventure than going on a hike along one the seven wonders of the world? After all, it’s not something you get to do every day. Also, since the Great Wall of China is very large and long, there are various sections you can visit. Another wall you should check out is Xi’an’s wall. Xi’an is an ancient city with the most well-preserved walls around it, which makes it ideal for cycling. Once you’re done with hiking and cycling, take a trip to Hong Kong and enjoy its culinary scene. Its cuisine is a fusion of many different types; for example, you can have a delicious meal in a Hong Kong restaurant with Californian vibes, and enjoy a nice drink at their bar as well.
California

If you love nature and are looking for something a bit more unique, consider visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks in California. They are two big preserves that attract a great number of visitors every year – and for a good reason. Sequoia National Park is one of the best places in the world where you can see massive trees creating a huge forest that stretches for miles. King’s Canyon, on the other hand, offers you a chance to hike along amazing alpine ridges and enjoy the view. These two parks are also popular rock-climbing spots. Just make sure to bring plenty of water with you, and keep yourself protected from the sun.

Peru
In case you’re looking for something a bit more exotic, consider visiting Peru. It would be a great opportunity to see the amazing and mysterious Machu Picchu. This ancient city is perfect for everybody who loves hiking, and the view from the top is bound to leave you speechless. You can climb the stairs to the Sun Gate with your partner and bask in the beautiful sunlight, or you can simply explore the ruins and learn more about the history of this amazing place. However, if hiking is not “fast” enough for you, you can also ride horses and quad bikes, or you can go kayaking and zip lining. Whatever you decide to do, Peru is a perfect destination for explorers, so you will surely enjoy it.

Just because it’s a vacation, it doesn’t mean it has to be all about relaxing, sunbathing, taking photos, etc. Of course, you can do all that, but if you and your partner like adventures, don’t hesitate to include them in your vacation as well. So, think about where you’d like to go, do your research about all the things you can do there, and have
