Guest Post :: How To Treat Your Body Like A Temple

It’s just about summer and the winter always seems to be the time of year we get off track with working out, eating right, and going to sleep on time, but when summer arrives…it’s bikini season and health and fitness seem to all of a sudden become a big priority. Peter Minkoff always writes the most fabulous guest post and today he is sharing some fabulous health and fitness tips to help keep you on a healthy track!
Most of us have heard of the saying “your body is a temple”, but not many of us actually treat it as it is. The excuses for that vary from not having enough time to simply being too lazy. However, there are many benefits of exercising, eating right, and taking care of your physical health. So, if you’d like to know how to actually treat your body like a temple that it is, here are a few suggestions.

Get enough sleep
We often sacrifice our sleep in favor of socializing with friends, watching one more episode of our favorite show, or even finishing up an important work project. However, your body needs to rest, so try to get eight hours of sleep whenever you can. Organize your time better, don’t carry your work home unless absolutely necessary, and make it a rule to turn off all the electronics at least an hour before your bedtime; you can use that time for reading or meditating. Your body will thank you for it.
Change your diet

If you consider your body to be a temple, then you should care about what you put inside your temple, right? So, improve your diet, and make sure to drink plenty of water. This means that you should start reading the labels before you buy your food. Not everything that looks healthy is actually healthy, so do your research, learn what your body needs, and adjust your diet accordingly. When in doubt, you can always eat more fruits and vegetables, and stay away from any processed foods.

Exercise more
Skipping the gym becomes all too easy when the modern lifestyle and all its time-consuming responsibilities catch up with us. Nevertheless, you should never skip exercising completely. If you can’t afford to go to the gym, there are many effective workouts you can do at home. Just make sure to have the right equipment for it, like high-quality active shorts and perhaps a good exercise mat, depending on the type of workouts you do. A sedentary lifestyle is too easy to get used to, but it’s not going to do your body any good in the long run. Therefore, make sure to exercise at least two-three times a week.
Consider meditation

If you want to truly treat your body the way it deserves to be treated, you should definitely try meditation. It has the power to relax not just your mind but your body as well, regardless of how stressed out you might be. If you’ve never meditated before, there are many apps that can help you. Meditating before bedtime could also help you sleep much better and wake up more energized. So, consider using the time without technology (meditation apps don’t count here) to relax and prepare for bed by meditating.

Compare yourself more positively
Last but not least, it might be difficult to stop comparing yourself to others completely, but when you catch yourself doing that, try not to beat yourself up over it. Everybody is unique, and just because somebody looks good, it doesn’t mean that you look bad. In these moments, it’s also a good idea to think about all your good physical qualities, whether it is your nice thighs, great biceps, full lips, or something else. In other words, it’s okay to acknowledge the beauty of others, but you should use that as an opportunity to acknowledge your own beauty as well.

Stop making excuses, and start changing your lifestyle for the better. Of course, big changes don’t happen overnight, but you have to start somewhere. So, eat healthier, exercise a few times a week, and try to get enough sleep. Moreover, think about your own qualities when comparing yourself to others, and consider meditation to relieve your body of all the tension. The results will be seen on your body in no time.

  1. Frankly speaking I don't like Mondays but now I see that situation can change according your attitude. Sometimes circumstances can change and we look on the things we didn't like from the other side. This happened to me with discounts by EssayEmpire . Ones I thought that they are unreasonably high, but when I realized that the quality of other services is too low I changed my opinion.
