My New Year's 2015 Goals

I WANT TO CONTINUE WORKING OUT ON A REGULAR BASIS: For 2014 one of my goals was to start working out again; it took a little while to get into the swing of it and fall into a routine, but one I did I was glad I made the time for it. After a workout I feel more mentally put together and energized. Admittedly I fell off the wagon over the holiday season, but fully intend to hop back on.

SOMETHING NEW I WOULD LIKE TO TRY IS PURE BARRE: I hear this is such a great workout and there is a Pure Barre within five minutes of where I live, so there is no excuse not to give it a try.

A BAD HABIT I WILL BREAK IS GOING TO BED WAY TOO LATE: I have developed the bad habit of staying up too late some night, and not falling asleep till somewhere in the time frame of 12-2 in the morning. Around 10:30 I start to get a second wind, so I work on my blog, play some music {that gets me really amped up}, mark things off my to-do list, then read a little before I go to bed. The few nights I do go to bed I can tell such a difference the next morning: I am more alert, animated, and I am just overall a better version of myself. So this year I am going to try to be in bed at the latest 11:30.

I’D LIKE TO TRAVEL TO CHICAGO: This was on My New Year’s 2014 Goals as well but I never got the chance to mark it off, so it has made the list again for 2015.

I WILL WORKOUT 4 TIMES A WEEK: 2014 was the first year in a while that I attempted to workout on a regular basis. I wasn’t as consistent at times as I hoped to be, but I am glad I put in the effort to complete the goal I set for myself last year. It is a habit I want to continue so I made it a goal for 2015 as well. Workout puts me in a better frame of mind and I feel more mentally put together after a workout.

I WILL VOLUNTEER 20 HOURS THIS YEAR: I always think it is important to try to contribute and do something outside yourself.

A BOOK I WILL READ IS THE CUCKOO’S CALL BY ROBET GALBRAITH {J.K. ROWLING}: I have heard so many great things about this book recently and am eager to get my hands on a copy. J.K. Rowling is such an amazing writer and I admire her creative. I am always up for a good mystery book and am looking forward to reading this one.

I WILL FINISH MY GOALS FOR 2015: I love being able to mark off every single item off a to-do list, in this case goals; it is an adrenaline rush for more to see all the items marked off a list.

I WILL TREAT MYSELF TO GIVING MYSELF PERMISSION TO SAY NO TO CERTAIN THINGS: I am one of those people that will say yes or agree to do something that I am not all that excited about in the first place for the sake of making someone else happy, sometimes at the expense of missing out on something I would really like to do.

MY GOALS FOR THIS YEAR ARE:
  • WRITE/PUBLISH A BOOK: I love writing and having a book published is a major overall goal of mine
  • TAKE A CALIGRAPHY CLASS: A few years I was feeling creative and wanted to learn something new that was somewhat of an art form so I taught myself copperplate calligraphy. I would like to take a calligraphy class to see if there is anything wrong with my technique and learn how to produce invitations on a mass scale.
  • TAKE A COOKING CLASS/LEARN HOW TO COOK: I have never really made the time before to truly learn how to cook. I know the basic things like how to scrabble, boil, and poach an egg, cook pasta, make a paini to die for, put together a basic casserole, bake cookies, things along those line. I feel like cooking is somewhat of an art form and something I would be good, so I would like to expand my cooking horizons. Plus I really want an apron from Anthropologie and if I start cooking then that’s a pretty good excuse to get one, in my opinion.
  • HAVE MORE FUN, BECAUSE THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR MORE FUN. Don’t get me wrong I have a lot of but am always up for more. Life is short so it needs to be filled with as much fun, adventure, happiness, and laughter as possible.

  6. I love the concept of goals. When we hold ourselves accountable for goals they become achieveable. It is difficult in life to accomplish tasks by yourself!

I was wondering how are you able to keep yourself accountable?

    1. For me personally I make a commitment to myself to accomplish something and if I don't the only person I have to blame is myself.
