The Man's Study

In the South it is often common for a household to have one room designated for the man’s study/office/library. The Man’s study is commonly decorated in plaids, navy, leather furniture, over-sized chairs, a television, horse pictures, war pictures, or ship pictures, and of course some men’s study contain taxidermy {shudder, I know…} this is the South after all where hunting is a common hobby. Call me old fashion, but I like the man’s study, it just adds a certain decorative element to the house that is different from the rest of the house but flows well at the same time.; besides on more then one occasion I have heard people say a woman has her house and the man has his study. Here are some tips and inspirationfor decorating a man's study!
Dark wood floors warmed by Oriental area rugs is a great start for a room reserved for a man's study

A man’s study is commonly painted in dark colors, hardwood walls, or fabric walls. I also like how books can be used in a man’s office as an added element of design.

The desk in a man’s study should make a statement whether it is a modern desk or a classic oak desk that has been passed down

When designing a man’s study it is important not to neglect the ceiling because you want to ceiling to stay in style with the rest of the room. Exposed beams look great in a man’s study.

  1. It's it bad that I want one of these for me? Except with dashes of pink.

I'm in love with that chair in the first pic.

  6. I love the fireplace in the last one pictured. I like the idea of a Man's Study in the home, all those rooms you pictured reminds me of the board game Clue. Now you just need a secret passage!
