How I Fight Off Anxiety

Everyone out there has without a doubt had a case of anxiety come over them and it obviously always seems to happen at a busy time in life. I am 100% sure that my phone is the source of my anxiety 98% of the time. It’s nice with the smart phone age that you are always connected and can have access to basically anything at the tip of your finger. However, the down side to the smart phone age is ironically that you are always connected…

Of course, there are other factors that go into having a feeling of anxiety come over you: jobs, school, family drama, etc. Since anxiety has become more commonplace in today’s society I thought I would share a few tips on how I fight off anxiety.
One// Put your phone on sleep mode an hour or so before you go to bed
I have recently started putting my phone in the ‘Do Not Disturb” mode and plug it into the charger before I get in the shower at night. Not gonna lie, the first few nights I did this it was such a struggle not to grab my phone and scroll through news feds, email, and check social media, but in the long run it so paid off. I’ve read before that the blue light from the phone isn’t that great for you and once I’m on email or social media I just started doing things I need to catch up on and before you know it, it’s 2 in the morning…

Two// Baths
I am always super keyed up at the end of the day and I have found that taking baths at the end of the day help to calm me down so much. And as an extra bonus I recently read that hot baths burn calories… relax and burn a few!

Three// Limit caffeine intake
I usually only drink caffeine when I need to wakeup a little or if I’m eating tacos {obviously} other wise I have the worst time falling asleep at night

Four// Workout
Working out has so many benefits besides just the obvious of keeping you in shape. If I go a whole week without working out it starts to drive me a little crazy, because for me personally, working out has more of a mental effect on me. My thoughts are more organized and I’m better to make more decisive decisions, and I sleep better at the end of the day.

Five// Yoga
This one could definitely go in the same category as working out, but I decided to put it in it’s own category just because it is a good way to work in a practice of mediation and relaxation exercises.

Six// Pamper Yourself
Some times you just need to sit still and not do anything and let your mind come to a halt and face masks, eye masks, and any other thing that forces you to sit still for 15-20 minutes is a great way to unwind at the end of the day.
