You all
may have noticed something a little different about the blog this week…I
finally invested in a new blog design! I’m kind of completely in love with it at
the moment. I am still working on tweaking a few things, but everything should
be perfect in a couple weeks! Incase you can’t tell, I’m a little excited about
this new step in the blogging world…
For a
while now I have been wanting to redesign my blog, but I could never find a
template I liked enough, the right time, the right blog designer, and the list
of excuses could go on and on. Truth be told I think the first blog redesign
was a little hard for me to commit to 1) because I wasn’t sure how it was going
to turn out 2) I was worried people wouldn’t like the new design 3) I spent so
much time building my blog from scratch it was a little hard to say goodbye to
the original design.
At some
point you do have to say goodbye to the old and the hello to the new! It was
definitely time for a change – the toile background was way too busy, my social
media buttons were no longer working properly, and my blog just didn’t look
neat, clean or professional anymore and it looked a little out-of-date… I knew
I wanted my new blog design to be predominantly white with a touch of pink and
a peony design incorporated somewhere in there, I just didn’t know where I was
going to find a design like that.
Saturday
night I was looking around at other blogs and saw one blog {I can’t think of
the blog name off the top of my head right now} whose site looked extremely
crisp and clean. So, I scrolled to the bottom of this blog, clicked on the
designer of it, and was directed to Designer Blogs. I started scrolling through
her blog templates and when I stumbled onto one that was mostly white with pink
flowers above the header I felt like I had found the most perfect dress without
meaning to. Needless to say, I purchased the blog template without thinking
twice. I was up till almost three in the morning installing the new blog template,
locating the perfect social media buttons on Etsy to match the new blog design,
and rearranging a few things.
Moral of
the story: once you find the right blog design for you, you will have no
problem letting go of the old. Eventually I still want to get a professional to
redesign my blog, but for now I feel like this is a nice stepping stone in that
direction, and quite frankly I could not be more in love with the outcome at
the moment. I am still trying to decide if I should change the text font I
write my blog post in to something more run of the mill/a text that might be
easier to read or keep it as is – what do you all think?
If you
have a blog and are on the fence about or whether to redesign it or not, I
advise you definitely should! It is a little scary, but after you find the
perfect design for you, you won’t have any regrets.
Love the new design. It's pretty!

DeleteYour redesign looks great!
ReplyDeleteIt's always fun to change things up, even though it can be a little stressful on the tech side.
I have used several Designer Blogs templates over the past few years! They are very easy to install and such a good price.
I have to admit it was much easier to install than I thought it would be ! Designer Blogs does some beautiful work!
