Curly Hair - The Struggle Is Real

I actually love my hair and would not trade it in for straight hair in a million years, but just like any thing curly hair, as I am sure is the same with straight hair, has it’s pros and cons. The biggest advantage of curly hair is that whatever hair style your heart desires it will hold it, that is unless you opted for a straight hair style and it just so happens to rain…

I always cringe a little whenever someone with straight hair tells me they wish they had curly hair; they just don’t know what they would be getting them selves into. Plus, I have also been of the mind you should that you should take pride in the assets you have been given and enhance them as much or as little as you want. That said, I have to confess that some mornings I think to myself life would be so much easier if only I had straight hair… If you have curly hair you know all too well how long it takes to air dry and you are faced with the tough decision to make of should you just go to bed with your hair wet or spend some quality time in the morning with your hair dryer and a curling iron/straightener, unless you are in college, when you can just go to class with slightly damp hair.

At the point of life I am in I usually opt to spend some quality time with a hair dryer and some type of hot tool, but the bright side is you don’t have to wash your hair for a couple days if you choose this route. Needless to say, I could not get by without hair products; they are a game changer and if you use a curling iron or a flat iron on a regular basis it is a necessity to have hair that is very well moisturized. Below are a few products that I could not get by without.

Pantene Curl Perfection 2-in-1shampoo & conditioner// I have used this shampoo for the longest time and it has not failed me yet. I opt for the 2-in-1 even though I use conditioner for the fact that it seems to make my hair softer

It’s A 10 Miracle Daily Conditioner// I really like this conditioner because it does not make your hair feel heavy and it cuts through tangles very easily.

Evo Liquid Rollers Curl Balm// The day I discovered this product I felt like I discovered fire. Evo is a leave in conditioner that actually does control frizz, believe it or not, and makes hair look super healthy. I love this product and buy it in bulk from amazon. Weather I am blow-drying or air-drying my hair this is the one product that I always use. For air dry hair it makes the natural curls look a ton better both in texture and shape, and for blow drying it helps to keep life in your hair.

drybar Hot Toddy// It is very important to find a good heat protectant when using any kind of heat tools. This one seems to be very light, protects hair, and as an added bonus smells amazing!

It’s a 10Miracle Leave In Conditioner// This is like my back up leave in conditioner/heat protectant. If I’m half way through drying my hair and it starts to fell a little crispy/needs an extra kick of life to it I spray a little of this on and it does the trick to put a lot of life back into my hair.
