My MakeUp Must Haves

I will go ahead and confess that I am no expert at all on how to apply makeup. I desperately wish I had a more study hand so I could do a flawless cat eye with eyeliner or be a bit more skillful with makeup brushes. That said, I still love makeup dearly, Sephora is like my grownup candy store, and of course I have a few makeup staples I could not live without.

Too Faced Primed & Poreless Primer// Even if I am only planning on wearing mascara I always apply this Too Faced Face Primer – It seems to have the effect of making the skin look fresher. The Too Faced Eye Primer is usually the first thing I put on when applying makeup; it’s actually meant to apply bronzers, blush, foundation, and other powders over, I have to say I don’t use foundation but this product actually makes it easier to blend in bronzer and blush.

Yves Saint Laurent Touche éclat// The Touche Éclat is my most favorite touch up product ever. It hides dark circles and blemishes so seamlessly and has a very natural look.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance Primer// This shadow primer is everything during the spring and summer months. It’s light and it keeps your eye shadow and eyeliner from fading or having that melting off appearance makeup can sometimes take on when it is unimaginably hot outside.

Trish McEvoy Eye Shadow Pens// I will go ahead and confess that I am no expert at putting on makeup and usually go for the most idiot proof products out there that will give you the most seamless look. This is a cream based eye shadow that you apply to your eyelid then use your finger to move it around and blend up to your brown line, which gives the effect of color variation on you eye lids. This is a product I use in my everyday makeup routine, which takes about 5 minutes… If I am working with powder eye shadow I sometimes use Trish shadow stick as a base to take the look to the next level and it actually helps to keep the powder based eye shadow in place.

Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette// When I am going to dinner or to an event or something out of the ordinary I usually take a little more time with make and I have found over the years that eye shadow and eyeliner make a world of difference when trying to dress a look up a bit. I absolutely love the Naked palettes {the first and second naked palette are my favorite} for the reason that I am actually able to use every single color in the pallet and I am not limited to a few because the color either do not go well with my skin tone or they just aren’t colors I would used on myself. I love have each palette offers a mix of matte and shimmery eye shadows so you can create what ever kind of look you desire and the quality is wonderful.

Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner// It seems that everyone differs a little on which eyeliner the prefer {pencil, liquid, gel, etc.}. For me usually a gel based or liquid eyeliner is easier for me to apply and achieve the seamless line. I also really like the Bobbi Brown Eyeliner for the purpose that it is easy to make a think or thin line depending on the occasion and it’s really easy for me to do a create the cat eye look with this one.

Benefit Roller Lash Curling Mascara// Not only is this mascara’s packaging super cute but this product is amazing! The shape of the mascara brush curls your eyelashes as you apply and it also goes on thick, so you only need one coat.

Bobbi Brown Pot RougeFor Lips & Cheeks// I have never used this product on my lips before but it is my go-to product to use as blush or check stain. This product is super easy to blend in and I love the natural look it creates.

Red Lips// In my opinion everyone need a really good red lipstick – I honestly could not function with out one. Since my skin has a bit of a red tint to it I usually go with red lipstick that looks like some type of blue huge was used to make it in order to off set my skin tone. Bite Beauty makes some very beautiful reds to chose from and it stays on for hours.

Bobbi Brown Lip Balm// I realize that lip balm really isn’t considered a makeup product, but I honestly could not live with out lip balm {my lips get chapped easily} and the Bobbi Brown lip balm is hands down my favorite lip balm I have come across.
