How To Have A Good Instagram Feed

In the past I feel that Instagram has become one of the most popular forms of social media, if not the most popular. It’s a fun way to keep in touch with friends, promote a project, or use to express you artistic ability, or simply to keep friends and family posted on where you’ve been and what you’ve been up to.

Since the Instagram App can really be considered a form of creative expression there really is no wrong way with this app, but like anything else in life, some Instagram accounts are just better than others. I will confess it kind of took me a little while to get the hang of Instagram, and my Instagram account is still very much a work in progress. Here are a few tips I have picked up over the last couple years to improve your Instagram Account.

Take Good Pictures// this point may seem a little obvious… Take multiple pictures – shoot around 10 or 15 snaps testing out different angles and lighting. There are usually two that are a little bit more crisp and vibrant that stands out from the rest.

Filters// If you prefer to use an Instagram filter stick with the same one so that your Instagram feed on the whole will have a better flow and more cohesive feel about it.

Photo Editing Apps// Instagram has a good editing tools in the app itself, but using a photo-editing app like VSCO cam or Snapseed really can make all the difference. Plus photo editing apps tend to be very user friendly.

Variety// You want your Instagram pictures to be consistent when it comes to style and filtering, however a variety in the subject {landscape, books, people, selfies, etc.} is always a good thing!

Interacting// If you are looking to not only improve your Instagram account but gain followers as well you need to interact with other people on Instagram. If someone comments on your photo make an effort to comment back and like other Instagrammers pictures.
