My New Year's 2014 Goals Update

Back at the start of the New Year I made a list of New Year’s goals I would like to accomplish this year {click here to see}. Since 2014 is a quarter of the way over I thought it would be fun to do an update of a few things I have crossed off of my list. I haven’t accomplished anything too big so far, but hey it’s the little things that add up to the big things, right? Anyhow below are a few of the items I have managed to cross off My New Year’s 2014 Goals List.

A BOOK I WILL READ IS THE FAULT IN OUR STARS BY JOHN GREEN: I finished reading The Fault In Our Stars a few weeks ago and actually posted a review on the blog about it last week {click here to read the review}. I am glad I read the book so I can finally understand why everyone was talking about it. The Fault In Our Stars was a good quick read unfortunately it feel short of my expectations, but the book did have a good message to it.

I WILL WORKOUT 4 TIMES A WEEK: I started working out again at the end of February; I haven’t consistently worked out in over a year, literally. As you can imagine the first time I worked out back in February was rough. Despite the first few times being a little hard to get through I have been going working out three or four times a week, consistently, I feel like I should give myself a pat on the back over that one!

A BAD HABIT I WILL BREAK IS DRINKING TOO MUCH COCA-COLA: For lent I gave up Coke and I haven’t had one March 4, well…I might have had one, maybe two…but hey, I started lent a day early and it does taste so good. But other then those couple times I have been doing well with the not drinking Coca-Cola thing!

I WILL TREAT MYSELF TO MAKING MORE TIME FOR MYSELF: Yes, I realize this was my somewhat selfish goal, but a little “me time” is good for everyone now and then. I hate feeling like I disappointed someone, so understandably I am not the greatest person at saying “no”. I have been better at finding downtime for myself this year and believe it or not telling people “no”.

What New Year’s Goals/Resolutions have you crossed off your list?

  1. I actually think Me Time is one of the best goals you can have on your list! I made this a goal at the beginning of September, and I am a lot happier!

Thanks for posting your updates! Always extra motivating to see what others are accomplishing!

  2. I would totally love to go to Chicago this year. It's one of my favorite cities. And, I would love to try yoga. My mom swears by it, but I have yet to jump on the wagon.

    1. Everyone I know who does yoga love it! I looked up to see if yoga videos are available On Demand and they are! I feel like if I go to an actual yoga with no experience under my belt I will either a) not be very graceful at it or c) do my uncomfortable laugh that I can't seem to stop once it gets to a certain point.

  6. haha i like the fact with the coke. i also drank too much coke last year, wanted to change that. i also wanted to eat much more healthy and to stop smoking. all of this achieved already :) and working out 4 times a week is so ambitious but great and very healthy. sports are simply good for your mind and soul. for a reason it's called mens sana in corpore sano.

  7. I love having a list of goals and resolutions to refer back to and accomplish throughout the year. I just started my 101 in 1001 last month and by far the hardest part has been creating the list. Here's a link to my 101 in 1001 that links to another blogger's 101 in 1001 and in her blog she links to another blogger and on and on and on. By going through all the link backs I found a dozen lists and was able to come up with a lot of ideas. I hope it helps you too :)
