The Perfect Mint Julep

In honor of the Kentucky Derby being only one week away I thought I would share the official Mint Julep recipe of the Kentucky Derby! Enjoy!
The Early Times Mint Julep Recipe
2 cups sugar
2 cups water Sprigs of fresh mint
crushed ice
Early Times Kentucky Whisky
Silver Julep Cups
Make simple syrup by boiling sugar and water together for five minutes. Cool and place in a covered container with 6 or 8 sprigs of fresh mint, then refrigerate overnight. Make on julep at a time by filling a julep cup with crushed ice, ad one tablespoon mint syrup and 2 ounces of Whisky. Stir rapidly with a spoon and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
