10 Summer Pieces That Will Always Be In Style

{Via}
While it may be taking a little while for the weather to warm up summer is just around the corner. I am so ready for sunny day, warm weather, the sound of water, and a summer breeze blowing through my hair. With each season it always seems like there are those iconic wardrobe stables that seem to never go out of style: oxford shirts, navy and white stripes, the oh so timeless shift dress. Below are my top 10 timeless summer wardrobe staples!
The Shift Dress: A shift dress can be worn to almost anything from a summer picnic to a casual wedding. Any summer day can be conquered as long as you have a trusty shift dress to pull out.
Jack Rogers Sandals: Of course after a Lilly Shift the next logic item is a pair of Jack Rogers. Since Jackie Kennedy played a part in making both the Lilly Shift Dress and Jack Rogers sandals popular it only seems appropriate to have them next to each other. These sandals can be worn with anything from a bathing suit to a classic summer dress. When in doubt, throw on a pair of Jacks!
Seersucker: Confession after the holiday season is over I start counting down the days till Easter when it is officially acceptable to start wearing seersucker everything once more.
White: White may have become acceptable to wear during all the four seasons, which I am very thankful for, but the season white really shines in is summer. Can a white on white combination be beat during this time of year?
Navy & White Stripes: In my book navy & white stripes will always be a classic and a favorite of mine. Navy and White dress, skirts, shorts, tops – why yes, I will chose all of the above!
The Nude Pump: Goes with everything and looks chic – need I say more?
The Oxford: An oxford shirt is always, always, a wardrobe must have. It is classic, looks put together, and can be worn as part of a work outfit {depending on how casual your place of employment is} or with some shorts on the weekend.
Tunic: Admittedly, I am not 100% sure if the tunic has officially become a “piece that will always be in style”, but I think it is safe to say that it will easily be around for summers to come. Perfect to wear over a bathing suit or with white jeans and wedges to dinner later that night.
The Wedge: Wedge or heel? During the summer I will opt for wedges unless of course a pair of nude pumps would look far better.
A classic black or navy swimsuit: I am partial to brighter color swimsuits, especially neon colors, but there is something so classic and timeless about a black/navy swimsuit that makes me feel a bit on the elegant side whenever I wear one.
What are some of you favorite classic summer pieces?

  1. Love that swimsuit! I think a Breton stripe top is another classic - and leopard flats! Both are on my wishlist, along with half the items here!

  2. Definitely agree with your list. Once it warms up I try and wear as much white, and navy/white stripes as possible.
