Autumn In Franklin

Even though the first official day of fall was September 22, it never really feels like the fall season to me until October arrives. The leaves start to change color, the air gets crisp, and the days get a little shorter and the nights a little longer. From childhood to present there are so many wonderful memories associated with the fall season: jumping in leaves, the fall carnival in elementary school, carving pumpkins, dressing up, Halloween parties, college football games, tailgates, spending nights next to a fire with friends, staying in to watch a classic movie on a cold night, plus so much more!

There is something about the fresh, crisp sense to the air that gives a feeling of renewed hope and energy. Over the weekend I went to downtown Franklin, TN. to enjoy a gorgeous fall day. I have to say I love Franklin, it’s like you stepped back in time to a small town; everyone is so friendly and the stores are wonderful! The leaves haven’t started to turn yet but there is a different feel to the air; falls reminder that it will soon be here in full force.

Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.”
~ F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
P.S. I recently purchased my URL, so I am now just www.atouchofsoutherngrace.com!

  4. Beautiful pictures! I love fall too... I don't know how else to describe it but it feels like magic it just in the air this time of year! Beautiful and quaint little downtown area in Franklin too. We have that in my city as well (Leesburg, VA) and I love it, especially this time of year!

    1. I purchased my URL from godaddy.com, it wasn't expensive at all, I think it was eleven dollars maybe at the end. The only down side that I've experienced by changing URLs is that once I changed to the new ones my AdSense ads went away since it is a different URL and I'm having to get my site re-approved. So be warned: if you have google ads they'll go aways and you'll have to get re-approved. It will be a good thing in the long run, plus I think it looks nicer.

  9. It hits me somewhere mid-September, that autumn really is here. It gets more colder and leaves start to change their colors and everything just seems more peaceful. Love the little town, looks like straight out of the movie. :)

  13. As a Southerner myself, I know what you mean. Now that there is a little nip in the air, especially at night, and the first leaves are beginning to change, I feel like it's fall. What a beautiful town - I've never been, but looks like one I need to visit - so charming and quaint!
