What I'm Currently Reading

I usually have three books going at the same time, but eventually I will get really hooked by one of the three and read it non-stop till I have read it all the way through. Currently I am still in the phase where I have three books going; there’s no clear winner right now. I usually choose based on the mood I am in and right now they have all been great reads so I thought it would be fun to share the books I am currently reading!

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon// I know it is such a faux pas to some and I usually read the books first before I see the movie or TV series, but this time I did it a little backwards and I watched the TV series first…the new season starts in September and it feels forever away… I have just started in on the first book and it is the perfect combination of fiction combined with history with a dash of sci-fi – there is time travel involved after all. I can’t wait to start moving through this book series, firstly, because the show is amazing but the book is always better, and I have a feeling that the Outlander series will be no exception. Secondly, it just seems like once you read the books it will be easier to make connections in the show, because again as history goes shows and movies based off of books always seem to leave out details here and there and do a little re-writing of the story.

The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware// I am only about 60 pages into this book, but so far so good. I have honestly been a little hesitant about reading this book, because a few weeks ago I posted a picture the book on my Instagram and heard a lot of mix reviews. I’m hopeful so far that it will be a good read and it definitely has all the right elements of a thrilled for those of you who are into suspense books.

Girl in Pieces by Kathleen Glasgow// Make fun of me all you want, but I think we can all agree that we enjoy a well written piece of young adult fiction every now and then. Girl in Pieces is Glasgow’s debut book and so far I have really enjoyed how she paints her characters in a way that brings them to life in a way that you can feel all the appropriate emotions for them. Fair warning the content is emotionally heavy, but I have had so many people tell me to read it and give high praise of the work that I finally broke down and purchased a copy.

You can also listen to these books on Audible. See this review on Audible here.

What are you currently reading and do you have any good book recommendations?
