Attachments

A couple months ago when I was at the beach, I went on a reading spree. After all, time sitting by the ocean calls for a book to read while listening to the sound of the waves. I had heard good things about Attachments, but was a little hesitant to read it; I really enjoyed Rowell’s Eleanor and Park, but it was a little on the dark side, and I was just not a fan of Rowell’s Fangirl {sorry, not sorry}. Luckily Attachments turned out to be a great beach read; the perfect mix of love story, humor, and a walk down memory lane of the decade that was the 90s. All in all, a perfect beach read.

Jennifer and Beth along with everybody in the office are well aware that someone is monitoring their work e-mails, company policy. However, Beth and Jennifer can’t bring themselves to take this company policy very seriously and continue to send each other endlessly funny e-mails, disclosing basically every aspect of their personal lives. All the while Lincoln, who is still trying to wrap his head around the fact that his job is to read other’s e-mail, starts to fall for Beth. By  the time Lincoln realizes that he is falling for someone he has never actually met, it seems almost too late to introduce himself.

If you are a fan of rom-coms this is definitely a book for you. It’s book full of characters that are so real you feel as you might pass them on the sidewalk on the way to get coffee, and the perfect mix of a finding love story with a humorous dialogue to keep things entertaining.
