Tin Angel Brunch

Last weekend I went to Sunday brunch with my family at the Tin Angel on West End in Nashville. The Tin Angel is honestly one of my favorite places to eat during the winter months they have the best comfort food! The atmosphere at this restaurant is wonderful; I love the exposed brick, artwork, windows, fireplace, bar area, it creates such a perfect environment cozy, winter ambiance!
Fried Green Tomatoes are one of my absolute favorite things to eat. Whenever I go to a restaurant it is a sure bet I will order fried green tomatoes if it is an option on the menu. Needless to say I have tried fried green tomatoes from many different restaurants; I can honestly say the Tin Angel’s Fried Green Tomatoes are without a doubt the best I have had. The batter, the sauce, and the quality of the tomatoes make for a wonderful combination. If you ever eat at this restaurant you have to try their fried green tomatoes at least once!
Sweet Potato Biscuits may not sound like the best breakfast items, but hey, this is the South and we love our sweet potatoes! To be perfectly honest I was a little hesitant about trying a sweet potato biscuit, firstly because I have never heard of such a thing before, and secondly well…it didn’t sound that good. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried one it was delicious! I have to admit I am more of a jelly and butter biscuit person, but these sweet potato biscuits were pretty darn good!
I ordered the omelet for my main brunch item. I love eggs, scrambled, fried, poached, it all sounds good to me. The only thing I don’t much care for about ordering an omelet out at a restaurant is sometimes the omelet is not light and fluffy depending on the egg batter used and sits a little heavy. This omelet was perfect; light, fluffy, and tasty. I also loved the fried potatoes and fruit that came with this dish.
The building the Tin Angel is in has been restored from it’s floors, brick walls, and free standing fireplace, and is one of the few historical commercial buildings left on West End Ave.
The bar at the Tin Angel was actually modeled after the owner’s favorite bar in New York City
