Merridee's Breadbasket

A couple of weekends ago I went to Merridee’s to grab lunch...well, mainly to pick up some of their incredibly delicious cookies, but I grabbed lunch while I was their. I love this bakery and restaurant; the atmosphere is so friendly, the food is delicious, and the Southern rustic, country feel it gives off goes perfectly with the dinning experience. Honestly, if I lived closed to Franklin I would go by Merridee’s practically everyday just to get one of their famous teacakes {my personal favorite} or one of the other many delicious bake goods they have to offer!
For lunch I had the Ham & Cheese Croissant, a Three Cheese Quiche, and of course a Coke to drink. The Ham & Cheese Croissant was delicious, their Monte Cristo Sandwich is amazing is well; I highly recommend the two. I had the Three Cheese Quiche, and I have to be honest, I love quiche and this quiche was good but it wasn’t great. I think from now on I will stay with their sandwiches and soups, which are always amazing!
I have a weakness for hanging chalkboard menus they just add a little something special.
Like any good bakery there are desert cases to tempt you. Fudge Pie to go? Ummm…yes, please! After all, who could resist not taking home a pie or cinnamon roll?

  3. I know what you mean about the chalkboard - I think they just give restaurants/bakeries/cafés (wherever you go!) a really sweet touch, kind of homemade but with far better handwriting than I will ever manage!

I have had so much going on with school that I just have not had a chance to respond to people and read my favorite blogs! I hope you have a great Sunday....because who can complain about gaining an hour of sleep?!!!
