My Favorite Apps

I will admit I am one of those people who suffers from phone separation anxiety. If my phone is more than a couple rooms away it is a safe bet that I will last about 10 minutes before I get up to retrieve it. It is a wonderful thing to be connect at all times, but sometimes it is nice to just unplug. Needless to say being accessible all the time definitely has its pros and cons; modern day technology is very much a love-hate relationship.

One huge benefit to having a very techy phone are all the apps right at the tips of your finger tips. Like most I use Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, etc., but there are some other fun apps other there that, dare I say it, addicting/fun.

Snapseed// This app is hands down my most favorite photos editing app. I pretty much edit every single photo I post on Instagram with Snapped; it just gives the picture a much more polished look.

Words With Friends// If you ever find yourself stranded in an airport, waiting for a flight, and don’f feel like reading, Words with Friends is the perfect solution. It is just like scrabble, but better. Plus you can even connect this app to Facebook and play against your Facebook friends.

Goodreads// I have no problem admitting I am kind of a book nerd... I have stacks of books just sitting around because I have simply run out of bookshelf space and I have no problem spending more than an hour in a book store. If you are ever on the fence about a book you can scan the bar code of the book with your phone and Goodreads will pull up all the reviews other Goodreads members have written on any particular book. If a book piques your interest you can add it to you “to read” shelf and you can also keep track of the books you’ve read and update your status in the book you are currently reading. Plus you can connect with friends through Goodreads and see what book they are currently reading.

Pandora// I honestly cannot stand silence. I listen to music as background music on a pretty regular basis. I know some people need silence to think, but I need a little noise...

WhatsApp// as embarrassing as it may be, up until last year I had no idea what exactly WhatsApp is used for... I realize some of you may be shaking your heads. This is the best app ever if you have friends who live in another country or are currently traveling. As long as you have a wifi connection you can call and text anyone in your contact list who also has downloaded WhatsApp and not be charged for making a phone call in a foreign country.

My Fitness Pal// Sometimes maintaining a workout routine and staying on top of what you eat can be a little bit of a challenge at times. My Fitness Pal helps you to keep track of how many calories you burn, workout habits, and calorie intake. It’s a good app to help you keep track and stay on top of things, but every now and then, at least in my book, it’s good to indulge yourself.

Waze// This app is a life changer. Waze is a community-based navigation app, meaning it will find the fasted routs for you. a large amount of Waze users report heavy traffic, closed lanes, accidents, and such; when you type in the destination address Waze maps out the fast way for you to get there.
