My Hair Care Essentials

My hair is a project when I wash it. It’s thick, curly, and long – washing my hair is something I don’t do every single day, I usually wash it every other day, I don’t have the patience to wash it every day. Truth be told I probably need to do the No Heat challenge or something and give my hair a break, but it takes forever to air dry, maybe when I go on vacation in a few weeks I will give my hair a break from the heat. Since I don’t wash my hair every day {it take up so much time to dry it} I like to use solid shampoos and products that work well with my hair so it will look good the next day too.

Over the years I have experimented with many different types of shampoos, conditioners, leave-in products, curling irons, hot rollers, straighter, etc. Through trial and error over the years I have found some favorite hair care products that work well with my hair. As you have probably guessed by the above picture I really like the drybar products, they are amazing plus they smell wonderful. I have my fingers crossed that a drybar opens up in Nashville; I would so hit that place up all the time!

Here are my hair care essentials:
PanteneCurl Perfection// I have tried so many different brands of shampoo for curly hair and Pantene seems to work best on my hair. It doesn’t feel heavy to me and after I used it for a while I noticed I didn’t have as many split ends.

RedkenAll Soft Shampoo// I always was my hair with the All Soft shampoo after using the Pantene Curl Perfection shampoo. If you have curl hair you probably know all too well that it tendency to feel dry sometimes and the All Soft shampoo seems to prevent dryness from occurring. Caution: when using the All Soft shampoo, unless you really do have dry hair, be sure to just use a little or else it will make your look flat or feel a little greasy.

RedkenCurvaceous Conditioner// This is by far the best conditioner for curly hair I have ever used. It will do wonders and make your hair look shiny!

EVOLiquid Rollers Curl Balm// Liquid Rollers might just possibly be my favorite product ever. It holds curls together and protects against frizz.

HotToddy// If you plan on using a hair dryer for a decent amount of time or a curling iron or straighter be sure to use a heat protector. I really like this one because it is not heavy at all, it prevents against frizz, and adds a little extra bounce and body to your hair.

Hold MeHair Clips// I dry my hair in sections using a Wet Brush and a barrel brush as I go. It is easier for me to dry my hair in sections and these clips work marvelous for that purpose. I tried them out for the first time a few weeks ago and I love them, they have an “alligator jaw” that allows them to be more flexible than normal clips and holds hair in place much better.

ConairJumbo Hot Rollers// After I dry my hair I put hot rollers in and leave them in for about 3 minutes. I usually put my makeup on right after I roll my hair and take them out after I finish my makeup.

The 3-Day Bender// The Bender was my splurge last year, and it is the best thing since I don't know what. The bender is amazing it heats up in 5 seconds and takes not time to use. I usually run the bender over random sections of my hair after I take the hot rollers out just to add a different texture and so my hair doesn’t look so perfect.

  1. Thanks for sharing! I don't do a lot with my hair: I use only a simply shampoo, conditioner and sometimes hairspray :)

  2. I don't have curly hair but I do have really thick hair so I can totally relate to the pain of drying your hair for hours.
