Deck The Halls

Christmas time seems to hold a certain level of sentimental feelings for most people. For me personally the Christmas ornaments, holiday decorations, wishing for a snowy December night, and the family traditions that comes with the holiday season takes me back to my childhood. Despite the fact that the holiday season can be stressful at times there is something that always seems magical about this time of year; a hopefulness and feeling that the world is a better place then it really is because of what the season represents.

Growing up Christmas has always been my family’s favorite holiday. When I was younger my family would always go to the Christmas Eve service at church and on the way home we would search for Santa’s sleigh in the sky, to my delight one Christmas morning I woke up to discover sleigh tracks and reindeer footprints in the snow outside my house. It is Christmas memories like this that I hold close to my heart that makes the season special to me.

Like all families my family has Christmas traditions that have been in practice for many years. The first and my personal favorite Christmas tradition my family practices is making a trip to a Christmas tree lot the day after Thanksgiving to find the perfect Christmas tree and bring it home to be decorated. In my honest opinion there is nothing that will get you in the Holiday spirit like decorating a Christmas tree while drinking hot chocolate and listening to Christmas music!
What Are Some of Your Favorite Holiday Traditions?

  14. Your tree looks absolutely lovely! This is the first year I won't be around my family for the whole month of December, so I am missing a lot of our traditions (like restaurant week and the Victorian Stroll!). I am hoping that they will wait for me to come to town to put up the tree though!
