Christmas Bliss

When it comes to Christmas reading I always get overly ambitious. My plan was to read one Christmas book a week and post a review on the blog, but, as it goes with holidays things kept popping up and I really waited till the last second this year to do Christmas shopping… If only everyday could be as slow and relaxed as a beach time; there always seems time to do everything you want when on beach time for some reason,

Before you start reading the review of this book, I have to confess I am only a little more than half way through. I wanted to get at least one Christmas book review up on the blog before the holiday season was officially over. I have read a few other books by Mary Kay Andrews, so I feel very confident in going ahead and recommending this book even though I have yet to finish Christmas Bliss.

ChristmasBliss is the follow up to Blue Christmas, which I read a couple Christmases ago and I just feel in love with all characters in the book and their never-boring small town life.

The two loveable characters, Weezie and BeBe, are bought back to life in a most delicious holiday trimmed book. It’s the Christmas season and Weezie’s wedding only a week away and BeBe is expecting a baby while trying to tie up some loss ends from the past that she doesn’t want Harry {her partner} to find out about.

Wezzie is enjoying a delightful week of dressing fitting, finding dream antiques for her shop at estate sales, and taste testing food for the wedding. While at her fiancĂ©e’s, Daniel, restaurant finishing taste-testing food, she spots an unsettling photo of Daniel with another woman while he is acting as a guest chef in NYC. Soon after Bebe talks Weezie into taking and impromptu trip to NYC to put her mind to rest and enjoy New York at Christmas with her wedding only a week away.

With Weezie in New York and Bebe learning that she is still married to Richard (a nightmare) and trying to keeping her re-filling for a divorce on the down low, there is entertainment to be found on each page of this holiday read.
