Fall Time, Flannel Time

{Via}
Cable knit sweaters, puffer vests, and flannel/plaid shirts have over the years become synonymous with fall and wintertime. Granted it is still a little warm {at least where I live} t break out the cable knits and puffer vests just yet, but flannel shirts are another story.

Weather in Nashville is always a little unpredictable when the weather is transiting from summer to fall; it was in the upper 50s this past weekend and today it was in the 80s… This time of year it is always nice to have a flannel shirt included in your wardrobe for those early fall days. I bought this flannelshirt a couple weekends ago, and I am not ashamed to admit I have already worn it multiple times.

Sometimes it is easy to forget just how many different ways a flannel/plaid shirt can be worn: For a more dressy look I like to pair it with a black or darker skirt, then for those casual days when you just feel like relaxing I like to pair my flannel shirts with a pair of leggings {or jeans, if you prefer} and if it is a little chiller than I expected outside I usually pop on a puffer vest to complete my casual flannel shirt look.

Here are a few of my favorite flannel shirts that are currently available. A little extra tip: Madewell and J. Crew always seem to go back and fourth on who has the softest flannel…right now J. Crew definitely has the most softest and coziest flannel shirts; at least in my opinion.

  4. These are all great plaid options! The weather on the East Coast has been rather erratic, but I'm looking forward to breaking out a cozy plaid shirt and vest. Love your vest!
