Goals For 2016

I am a little late publishing my New Year’s goals {resolutions} this year, but it is still January and there are still 11 months left in the year to mark all my goals of the list!
One// Go To Bed Earlier: Somewhere along the way, toward the end of 2015 I got in the most horrible habit of going to bed well after midnight. I would either stay up late  trying to catch up on some blog work or read a book or organizing, etc. For 2016 I am going to trying to go to bed at 10:30 or 11:00; early to bed, early to rise…early to bed, feel rested the next day.

Two// Improve Blog: I did not have  {make} as much time as I hoped I would to work on my blog. This year I am going to aim to post more and on a regular basis, have a new web design, and include more outfit posts.

Three// Read More: I read a lot already but would like to read more. Books are the best escape, at least for me, and have the ability to offer a new perspective or make an impact on you. When ever I need to unwind, am feeling stressed, or need a distraction I break out a book.

Four// Travel To A New Place: I am one of those people who would love to travel almost anywhere {there are a few places I am just not interested in visiting…} and everywhere. I love history and have read so any books about different places and cultures, and would love to see certain places first hand.

Five// Workout On A Regular Basis: I was doing pretty good about working out on a regular basis in 2015, except for the end of the year… new puppy, long trip in November, and of course the holiday season; it has been hard to get back into the swing of working out again. For some reason after I workout I always feel more clear headed and less restless, so this is definitely a goal I intend on sticking to!

Six// Live In The Moment: If my mind were a desk it would be in complete disarray. I am horrible about getting lost in thought in the middle of doing another task or even when I am spending time with friends and family. Sometimes it is good to just slow day and enjoy what you are doing in the present instead of thinking of all the things you need to do.

Fabulous Ways To Spare Layover Time In Airports

I for one always look forward to a vacation. A time to escape from the routine of everyday life, takes in some new surrounding, relax, and have some fun. With vacations also comes the travel process and the every dreaded layovers and flight delays. Peter Minkoff was so kind to write a guest post today and share a few ways we can turn layovers and flight delays into a positive thing.
Even though the majority of travellers think of layover as very dreadful and exhausting – it actually doesn’t have to be like that at all. Waiting for your connecting flight can be a very precious time you will spend just on yourself. Here is a list of fabulous ways to spare layover time on airport, so check it out and learn how to minimize stress and enjoy it to the max.

1.      Sleep
There is nothing more important than beauty sleep, even when it comes to infamous layover. Your eyes will eventually get too heavy, and if dozing off in public is not your cup of tea, don’t worry – there is a solution to your problem. Many airports today have YOTEL facilities, which are basically accommodations within the airport terminals that are inspired by Japanese capsule hotels. It comes with a bed, bathroom with shower, a fold-out desk, and even a flat-screen TV. Sleep well and avoid jet lag for the best trip ever!

2.    Restaurants
From coffee shops to restaurants with Michelin stars, airports all over the world indeed offer high-quality foods and drinks to the globetrotters. It is just up to you to choose what you would like the most – no matter whether it is a doughnut and coffee from Starbucks, or Gordon Ramsey’s perfect steak and a glass of wine. Besides that, there are numerous restaurants that are particularly appropriate for families with small children, so have that in mind when choosing a perfect place to grab a bite.
3.      Shopping
Some of the airports are true paradise for shoppers, and trust us – you won’t even feel when your time is up. For example, Terminal 5 at Heathrow in London is stacked with more than 100 shops that offer everything you can possibly need – even some of the world’s most prominent brands and designer houses have their stores here. Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, and Prada are just some of them. This terminal is definitely a perfect retail therapy space that will provide an ultimate shopping experience.

4.    Work Out
It may sound quite awkward, but it is actually not – just a few minutes of stretching and deep breathing will get your blood flowing after a long flight. Have that in mind the next time you are planning your trip and pack a yoga mat in your carry-on. Some of the airports even offer a fitness area, but if there is no such place, you can always pick a quiet corner of an airport lounge. On the other hand, if you would like to sweat a bit more, check out if that particular airport offers a gym or fitness center in or around it. Just be considerate to other passengers and make sure that there are shower facilities, too.

5.    Play a Game
No matter whether you will choose a board game, or the favorite one on your smartphone or tablet – this is definitely a good way to kill some time at the airport. Some of the most amazing face-to-face games include Travel Scrabble, Bananagrams, and Yahtzee to Go, which are all appropriate for travelling. On the other hand, if you are all on your own, you can play online games such as Poptropica. It offers a wide range of games that are both entertaining and educational, which is actually a great way to pass the time.
Even though you would probably be happier if the layovers didn’t exist, the truth is that they really don’t have to be that stressful and exhausting. The majority of the airports today actually offer so many amenities that will make your layover not only bearable, but quite enjoyable in fact. Use them well and that will certainly make your life much easier.
