Loveless Cafe

A few days ago I grabbed lunch at the Loveless café, which if you are from the South you know this establishment is basically a Southern landmark. There is no better place to get a traditional Southern meal. The Loveless has been serving up Southern food for over 60 years in Nashville, TN. and everything is made entirely from scratch! In 1951 Lon and Annie Loveless began serving fried chicken and biscuits {a Southern staple} right out of their front door, and this establishment continues to serve fabulous food!
Here is a little historical bit on the Loveless Café: “Beginning as a party house in the forties, the little white structure that sits next to what is now the Natchez Trace had one of the largest hardwood living room floors around – perfect for dancing the night away. Weary travelers found comfort and refuge in the cozy home and in the food the owners served. As the tiny house became a planned stop for treks along Highway 100, the then private home became known as the Loveless Motel and Cafe. Lon Loveless built and ran the property’s 14 motel rooms while hungry crowds were drawn to Annie’s homemade preserves and scratch-made-biscuits – a secret recipe that remains unchanged to this day.” {About the Loveless}
While you pursue the menu, enjoy some biscuits! The Loveless Café is famous for their homemade biscuits and preserves. Every time I eat here I spread a little butter and a lot of raspberry preserves on the biscuit, it is delicious!
I usually eat at the Loveless a handful of times each year, so since this is not a place I visit often when I do dine at the Loveless I have to make it count! I ordered a half order of the Fried Chicken, a side of Mac and Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Fried Okra, and Hash Brown Casserole; My eyes were definitely bigger then my stomach. Each entrée comes with two sides and you can always add more if you like {the Mac and Cheese and Fried Okra are my favorite side items}. If you ever go to the loveless you have to get the Fried Chicken, it is amazing! To see the full menu click here.
 When you first enter the Loveless Café you will see walls full of autograph pictures of celebrities who have dinned at this restaurant, some of the photographs are even starting to creep up on to the ceiling.
The blue and white table clothes, wooden door frames, paintings of country music singers, old photographs, and overall décor creates a very cozy Southern feel.
Check back later this week for more on the Loveless!

The Perfect Eyeliners

I know people have various views on makeup and how they feel about having to apply it each day, but personally I love makeup; Sephora is like my grown-up candy store! Two of must-have, always wear in the makeup department is a classic color lipstick and eyeliner. For me they are the two items that make the biggest different; eyeliner makes your eyes pop and your lashes show up more, and lipstick draws attention to your smile and seems to effortlessly enhance the face. I am always on the hunt for the perfect eyeliner, so today I have decided to share with you my top five favorite eyeliners! Chic Sweatshirts

Recently I have been loving the jazzed up sweatshirt trend. When I was at J. Crew earlier this fall I took noticed that sweatshirts were given a little extra flare of sophistication this year to make them more acceptable to wear in an everyday environment: a casual day at work, school, or just to wear in everyday life. The way this seasons sweatshirts can be styled is simply endless, I love how versatile they are! This concept exemplifies the phrase “simple yet elegant”. Here are a few of my favorite sweatshirts I have come across this season. Click on the name of the sweatshirt, located below the image, for the link.

Storybook Red Doors

Thursday when I posted the post, “Knock, Knock, Welcome In” {a post on doors}, I received quite a few comments on how much people love red doors. Unfortunately I was unable to find a red door that would work with the “Knock, Knock, Welcome In” post, so I figured what better way to pay tribute to red doors then by doing a follow-up post solely on red doors!

Red doors have always reminded me of a storybook perfect house with a wrap around porch and a white picket fence. Needless to say red doors bring a picturesque image to mind. I love the pop of color a red door can add to a house, and the fact that red doors look equally fabulous on both white and brick houses. Here are a few beautiful red doors I have recently come across, hope you all enjoy!

I know what your are thinking…yes, I realize it has been fall for exactly a month and yes, I am a little late with this post, but better late then never! It has just started to feel fallish where I live, up until last weekend it literally felt like it was still summer or at least sprig like weather, but now the colder weather is here in full force. I have to admit I miss the summer sun and warm weather but I do love fall and all of the beautiful scenery and wonderful fall fashion! Below are my top ten fall essentials! Trick-Or-Treat

Personally I have always preferred treats to tricks this time of year; after all, who could resist a ghost, witch, or fall inspired delicious treat! I have always felt like Halloween is the official kickoff to the holiday season! When I was younger I used to love dressing up, going from door-to-door saying trick-or-treat and having a bucket full of candy at the end of the night. I remember the crisp Halloween nights as a child {sometimes it would even snow}, the excitement in the air, the candy to be given, the fun to be had; it is the perfect holiday for children and even as adults we still find a way to celebrate the night of Halloween! So to embrace all things candy corn, pumpkins, peanuts, and all things chocolate and Halloween here are a few delicious Halloween treats! Click on the name of the treat, located below the image at the end of the post, for the website!
