How To Get A Picture-Perfect White Smile

I am constantly on the search for a new technique, toothpaste, or remedy to have whiter teeth. I don’t usually wear a lot of eye makeup so I usually opt for a red lipstick, because I love a nice red lip and it adds a pop of color and brings my makeup game up a level, however, the downside is red lipstick highlights that slight not so white tent your teeth sometimes have. For today’s post Peter Minkoff has written a guest post sharing a few tips on how to have that picture-perfect white smile!
There’s nothing more pleasant and heart-warming than seeing someone with a beautiful smile. The more you smile the happier you will be. Don’t feel shy if your smile is not perfect. With a little bit of effort and proper dental routine, you can easily get that picture-perfect smile you’ve always wanted. Take a look at the following tips and try to incorporate them in your daily life.

The question of a toothbrush

It would be best to opt for an electric toothbrush. Their bristles are generally soft, which means that there’s less chance of damaging your enamel and gums. Moreover, thanks to the rotation and oscillation of an electric toothbrush, you’ll be able to remove a lot more plaque from your teeth than you would with a regular toothbrush. Still, this doesn’t mean that you should shorten your brushing time. Two minutes is a must both in the morning and evening.

Avoid pressure

Regardless of whether you use a regular or an electric toothbrush, it’s essential that you don’t use too much pressure as you brush your teeth. If you rush your teeth brushing and apply really strong brush strokes on your teeth, you are at a much greater risk of damaging your enamel. Make your teeth brushing a part of your morning and evening ritual. That way, you can take things slowly and gently brush your teeth without pressing too hard.

Opt for whitening toothpaste

If you want to whiten your teeth, replace your old toothpaste with a whitening one. However, if you have sensitive gums, it’s always best to get familiar with toothpaste ingredients first. There are whitening kinds of toothpaste that contain natural whitening agents, which are perfect for someone with sensitive gums and teeth. It may take you a while to get used to this sort of natural toothpaste. However, once you notice the positive change, you’ll never look back.

Other ways to whiten your teeth

Apart from the whitening toothpaste, there are other ways to make your teeth whiter and brighter. For example, using activated charcoal is a great way to reduce stains on your teeth. On the other hand, using baking soda is also a great whitening technique. However, you should be very careful with brushing your teeth with baking soda. Since it can be very abrasive on your enamel, use it only once or twice a week. Of course, these techniques cannot replace your usual toothbrush. That’s why you always have to brush your teeth again the way you normally would after applying these natural teeth whiteners.

Don’t avoid braces

A picture-perfect smile is not just about the whiteness of your teeth. If your dentist suggests braces, make sure to wear them. After all, these days you can get your teeth straightened with Invisalign clear braces. Thanks to the advancement in dental technology, Invisalign is a new trend that will improve the look of your teeth without anyone being able to tell that you wear braces. What’s more, your dental routine while wearing Invisalign braces doesn’t differ from your regular oral hygiene habits.

Floss and wash

After all, the best way to avoid cavity and kill any stubborn bacteria that cannot be cleaned by brushing is to use floss and mouthwash regularly. Flossing every evening will remove every last bit of food particles from your teeth that may pose a threat to your dental health. Moreover, using a mouthwash on a regular basis will effectively sanitize your mouth and prevent any bacterial growth.
As you can see, your picture-perfect smile depends solely on your own efforts and dental routine. Together with regular visits to the dentists, the above-mentioned tips will help you smile confidently and honestly.
