French Blue & Antique Gold

A few weeks ago Chairish invited me to pick out an item offered on their website and create a board around it. Who could resist an opportunity to come up with a style board centered around one of Chairish many lovely pieces, besides decorating is fun!

Chairish was founded by a husband-wife team; when faced with the task of moving and what to do with the beautiful furniture that wouldn’t fit their new space, the husband and wife team came up with the concept for Chairish. Chairish is a place where design lovers can buy and sell furniture. Chairish is located in San Francisco, CA, but luckily they have a terrific website that makes it easy to browse beautiful and unique home décor. Oh, and did I mention that Chairish also offers vintage furniture...

The piece I decided to design a style board around is the French Chair in New Blue VelvetUpholstery. When I opened the zip file Chairish sent me I instantly fell in love with the way this chair looked. Granted I am a sucker for basically anything blue, but the woodwork detail on the chair is so beautiful and really just sent the whole chair over the top.

Since the chair has such a timeless look about it, I was sent in the creative direction of classic with a few bold prints and clean lines. To accent to blue upholstered chair I choose a few gold accent pieces – the bar cart also being another one of the wonderful finds Chairish offers. It always amazes me how wallpaper with a large print or a large mirror can transform a room. Mirrors always seem to add a sense of grandness to a room – making it feel bigger and adding depth.

I honestly believe that blue pieces are something that can be added to almost any color scheme. The beautiful French Chair in New Blue Velvet Upholstery is truly a timeless piece and an instant favorite of mine.
