Holland House

I am always slightly envious whenever I venture into East Nashville of all the amazing restaurants that are in that area. Granted East Nashville is reasonably close to me, but it would be nice to have some restaurants like Pharmacy Burger, Rumors East, Holland House, and a few other neat restaurants closer to me other than the run of the mill Cheesecake Factory, Chipotle, etc.
This weekend I ate at the Holland House Bar and Refuge, that is of course located in East Nashville. I not only loved the food but I also loved the restaurant’s décor. The interior is full of chandeliers, has beautifully exposed brickwork, and easily one of the coolest bars in Nashville.
For dinner I had the Tasso Grilled Catfish, Buttermilk Grits, Haricot Verts, Prosciutto, complete with Lemon Pepper Hollandaise {to see the full menu click here}. Believe it or not this was more first encounter eating catfish, shocking, I know. Taking into account that I haven’t had catfish before dinning at the Holland House, but in my opinion the catfish was amazing! The grits were the perfect consistency and went perfectly with the catfish. Unfortunately I failed to take a picture of the Artisan Bloomy Rind Cheese Plate and the Crème Brulee, but both the cheese plate and desert were delicious!
The Holland House is easily in my top 3 restaurants I have been to so far this year. As I said the interior of the Holland House is beautifully decorated but they also have a wonderful outdoor dinning area with twinkle lights and outside bar, perfect for those spring and summer nights.
