Christmas Day Recap

Is it just me or does everyone else wish that Christmas lights would stay up all year round? Even though Christmas Day has come and gone I am still 100% in the Christmas spirit. It’s always a little bitter sweet to bid Christmas Day farewell till next year. One plus though is that Christmas lights and decorations tend to stay up till New Year’s, so you can relax and take in all things beautiful and Christmasey without having to mentally go through that running holiday list you have in your head.

Usually for Christmas it is tradition in my family to wake up Christmas morning, take turns opening presents, take a break to eat Christmas breakfast, resume opening presents, then after it is time to get down to work of putting together a Christmas dinner that can only be described as perfection, and sit down to eat dinner around 4 as a family, and of course eat, drink and be merry!

We decided to shake things up a bit and do Christmas a little differently this year mainly because on the whole my family has had a lot going on in general this year.

This year for Christmas instead of the usual routine we decide to go to Christmas brunch at the Hermitage Hotel, cook our absolute favorite Christmas dishes prior to Christmas day to snack on Christmas night, open presents in the afternoon, and watch Christmas movies and enjoy each others company. I have to say it was a nice change of pace and as much as I love the smell of Christmas food wafting around in the kitchen and helping my mom put together different dishes, not having to cook a full on, no holds back Christmas dinner definitely made the day seem a little longer and a little bit more relaxing.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM MY FAMILY TO YOURS

New Year's Eve Party Inspiration

The clock on 2016 is winding down…there are only three more days left of this year! For those of you organizing a New Year’s Eve party, that also means there are only three more days left for you to pull together those final touches.

I will be the first to admit that I am somewhat of a procrastinator when it comes to certain things. To help cut down on some of the holiday stress I thought it might be fun to share some NYE party ideas.

As a side note: it is easy to get caught up in the details, but as long as you are surrounded by good people, a fun time is sure to be had. So try not to stress too much if you are hosting a New Year’s Eve party and remember to enjoy yourself!
