The Iron Gate

The Iron Gate located in Franklin, TN. is one of my new favorite stores to go in and browse around. I just love everything in this store and the warm, cozy feeling the atmosphere of the store gives off upon entering. When I first walked in The Iron Gate I honestly felt like I was in candle and lighting heaven, but if you walk further into the store you will discover beautiful linens, furniture, home goods, gift tags, French soap, and some very unique/antiqued items, which I am sure have a fabulous story behind them. This store also had some wonderful coffee table books {which I am always a sucker for} and of course, since this is the South there were a few SEC items in the store as well. If you are ever in around the Nashville/Franklin area I strongly encourage you to take a look around this store, especially if you are a lover of interior design! Below are a few pictures I took while I was shopping around in The Iron Gate! For more on The Iron Gate click here.

Madd About Plaid

From November to January I instantly think of plaid: plaid table settings, plaid shirts, plaid Christmas décor, and even plaid rooms. The plaid options that are available during the winter months are simply endless! Even as I write I’m wearing a tartan scarf! So here’s to being mad about plaid and to a great winter season ahead! Below is some plaid inspiration to get lost in. If the name of the item located below the image is in bold text click on the bold text for the website.

The Dog Walk

So we have all heard of the catwalk…but the dog walk? Like everything Ralph Lauren comes up with this ad campaign is simply fabulous! Ralph Lauren is one of my favorite designers; I love his timeless style and taste. Plus I also love the story of how he became the Ralph Lauren we all know today, he is truly an example that hard work, motivation, and a good idea will take you far in life. I came across Ralph Lauren’s “The Dog Walk” ad earlier today when I was scrolling through my Facebook news fed and simply had to share it with you all! As a side note don’t forget to set your clocks back tonight! Below is “The Dog Walk”. Enjoy!

Merridee's Breadbasket

A couple of weekends ago I went to Merridee’s to grab lunch...well, mainly to pick up some of their incredibly delicious cookies, but I grabbed lunch while I was their. I love this bakery and restaurant; the atmosphere is so friendly, the food is delicious, and the Southern rustic, country feel it gives off goes perfectly with the dinning experience. Honestly, if I lived closed to Franklin I would go by Merridee’s practically everyday just to get one of their famous teacakes {my personal favorite} or one of the other many delicious bake goods they have to offer!
For lunch I had the Ham & Cheese Croissant, a Three Cheese Quiche, and of course a Coke to drink. The Ham & Cheese Croissant was delicious, their Monte Cristo Sandwich is amazing is well; I highly recommend the two. I had the Three Cheese Quiche, and I have to be honest, I love quiche and this quiche was good but it wasn’t great. I think from now on I will stay with their sandwiches and soups, which are always amazing!
I have a weakness for hanging chalkboard menus they just add a little something special.
Like any good bakery there are desert cases to tempt you. Fudge Pie to go? Ummm…yes, please! After all, who could resist not taking home a pie or cinnamon roll?

Happy Hour Time

Happy All Saints Day and Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween with many wonderful memories to look back on. It was so windy where I live, in Nashville, but all in all I had a pretty great Halloween night. I can’t believe October has come and gone, but I love the start of November; everyone starts to get in the holiday spirit, plus November 1 is the first day you may officially listen to Christmas music {or at least it is in my book}. Farwell to October, hello to November, and Cheers to a terrific weekend and holiday season ahead of us!

“People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish motives. Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some trust enemies. Succeed Anyway. What you spend your years building, someone could destroy overnight; build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it my not be enough; give them your best anyway. In the final analysis, it is between you and God; it was never between you and them anyway.”
