If you have been following along for a while now, you have probably gathered that fall is my most favorite season of the year. I know people like to say that everything good happens in the summer, but I am going to go against the grain and disagree with that statement… I feel like everything good happens in the fall. There is just something in the air that signals change of only good things to come.
I love autumn nights when the air takes on a crisp chill, the rain is gently pinging against the window, and the leaves are rustling in the wind, and you are left with no other choice but to light a fire, pop some popcorn, and watch one of your favorite fall movies.
Meg Ryan is like the queen of autumn movies/90s romcoms. Honestly, I am so loving the 90s aesthetic that is currently trying to be revived. To be fair, this will always be my most favorite movie, regardless of the season. I saw this movie for the first time when I was in the sixth grade and have been in love with it ever since.
Believe it or not, up until about three years ago I had never seen this movie. It is such a classic and almost criminal that I waited so long to watch it, but it completely lived up to the hype. If you are a hopeless romantic or in a period of your life where you are holding out for a love you deserve, then this movie is most definitely for you. Plus, the fall fashion in this film is so iconic.
I love how movies that were made twenty plus years ago are now randomly having very delayed sequels made. I saw the other day that a sequel to Practical Magic is being made, and all I can say is, please, let this be true! This movie is just like a 90s fall mood bottled in the form of a film. Love the storyline, plus, has Sandra Bullock ever been in a movie that isn’t completely excellent…
Is it just me, or did Disney make some pretty scarry movies for children… Confession, some parts of this movie still scare me a little… I still love this movie and could not imagine going a fall season without watching it at least three times.
Obviously had to end this round-up with one more iconic Meg Ryan movie. I feel like there are so many parts of this movie that are so relatable, and I love her hair and some of the clothes she still wears in this movie. Some of the coats from the 90s were just so on point and so timeless… I would 100% wear the outfit Meg Ryan wore in the closing scene of this movie, hair and everything.
