How To Make Your Hair Grow

It has happened to all of us at some point in time. You are on your way to the salon with the firm decision that you want a couple inches off your hair or are going to try out a new hairstyle, only to later realize that hair cut/hair style you were so excited about wasn’t quite what you thought it would be. Whether you woke up one morning wishing you’re hair was a little bit longer or you’re recovering from an unfortunate hair cut waiting for you hair to grow seems like it can take an eternity sometimes.

Recently I have decided to let my hair grow out some – all the braids on pinterest have inspired me to do so and my hair is a little easier to manage when it’s longer…#curlyhairproblems. Luckily there are a few steps you can take to speeding up the process to achieving longer hair.

1.      Use conditioner every time you shampoo but don’t shampoo every time you shower – maybe wash your hair every other day
2.    Always rinse hair products out of your hair with cool water – the cool water seals the hair cuticle and locks in oils
3.    Don’t forget to use a heat protectant or lotion {this is my favorite heat protectant} when using hot tools on your hair {i.e. hair dryers, curling irons, straighteners, etc.}
4.    Get split ends trimmed regularly – regular trims will keep your hair looking healthy and prevent split ends from working their way up hair strands.
5.    Try taking multi-vitamins paired with hair growth vitamins or prenatal vitamins – the average person’s hair only grows a quarter of an inch a month; taking vitamins that contain biotin along with iron and folic acid will promote hair growth and help it grow a little faster.
6.    Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day – water keeps your skin and hair hydrated, plus drinking a lot of water has many other health benefits
7.     Eat a lot of protein – eating a lot of protein will make you hair strong and healthy
8.    Practice patience – hair can’t grow a significant amount overnight.
