With tomorrow being the first day of April that means that Easter is right around the corner! I can hardly wait to break out all my white and seersucker clothing and my sandals. Spring is one of my favorite times of year, I feel like everything is fresh, new, and has a clean feeling about it. As you all know I have a weakness for holiday themed deserts so today I though I would share with you a few Easter deserts I have recently come across.

Here’s where to get the recipe. Click on the name of the dish to be directed to the website where you can find the recipe.

Rainy Day Weekend Outfit

Rainy Day outfit

I love how rainy nights always seem to make for the best nights sleep; I can honestly say that I haven’t slept as well as I did last night in a few weeks. Unfortunately when I woke up it was still raining, so of course I made myself a cup of hot chocolate, got back in bed, and shopped around on the internet for a bit…after all, it’s the only logical thing to do on a rainy morning. I always prefer warm, comfortable, stylish outfits, complete with a pair of rain boots for a day such as this one. For today’s post I created a rainy day weekend outfit {pictured above} that would look great on anyone! For outfit details click on the above image to be directed to my Polyvore account.

The Fault In Our Stars

If you all follow me on Instagram you know that I started reading The Fault In Our Stars by John Green back in February. I was finally able to finish The Fault In Our Stars a couple weeks ago. I wish I had more time to read, for me there is no better way to unwind at the end of a day than to put on some comfortable pajamas and curl up in bed with a good book.

Incase you have yet to read The Fault In Our Stars it is about a teenage girl, Hazel who has terminal cancer, but luckily a tumor-shrinking medicine has bought her a few extra years. Hazel meets Augustus Waters at a support group, who soon changes her life and helps to rewrite her story.

In all honesty The Fault In Our Stars has a really good story line and is one of those books that is hard to put down. During the process of reading this book I smiled, laughed, cried, and thought about some things - all signs of a good book. I really like the author’s style of writing and the way he was able to capture each character’s emotion. Green seems to have so perfectly capture the feelings and the different emotional stages a family who had a member with cancer would be going through.

I know I am probably going to catch some flack for the next thing I am about to say…as good as the books was the story and outcome were a little on the predicable side. Granted this books deals with the topic of cancer and star-crossed lovers, but being the eternal optimist I really wish the book had a different ending, but then again by the third chapter I knew exactly how the story would end. I have heard so many great things about this book and have heard that it is one of those books that would change your perspective. Maybe I’m missing something or maybe my expectations for this book were too high because I have heard so many great things about it. I have read perspective-changing books and for me The Fault In Our Stars, although it’s a great book, it wasn’t a perspective-changing book for me.

I would definitely recommend reading this book and although it wasn’t a perspective-changing book for me it could be for someone else. I think the main thing I got out of this book is even though we encounter undesirable obstacles/experiences throughout life it is in those moments that we have to find some humor and motivation to get through/fight it and be thankful for what we are given. Another thing I got from this book is how valuable time is; sometimes I feel like I couldn’t do everything I want to do in one life time, I can’t imagine how the concept of time rapidly running down on you would feel at the age Hazel and August are in this book. Reading The Fault In Our Stars is one of those books that did make me feel thankful for my health and my life. Overall The Fault In Our Stars is a good read.

Lilly Pulitzer Spring Arrivals

As the spring season approaches each year I always look forward to being able to wear Lilly Pulitzer shorts and dresses and of course a pair of Jack Rogers to go with any outfit. Oddly enough it doesn’t feel quit like spring yet, it even snowed yesterday in Nashville. Despite the cold weather that keeps making a reappearance I have my fingers crossed that warm weather will soon be on its way to stay! For today’s post I thought since the spring weather is slowly making its way in and winter is on its way out {hopefully very soon} I would share some of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

The Proper Puppy

A couple weeks ago Katy, the founder of The Proper Puppy, contacted me informing me of her company and offered to send a few products. After looking through The Proper Puppy website I had no trouble finding a few products to review! The Proper Puppy offers collars, leashes, scarves, and even key chains. The Proper Puppy also offers a great selection of fabrics that the collars are made out of; they have everything from college colors to Lilly Pulitzer prints and everything in between to choose from. The best part however is that you have the option of getting your dog's name monogrammed on the collars!
My dog, Samantha, has somewhat of an odd relationship with collars; she loves them and believe it or not gets sad when she does not have a collar on, needless to say she has one on 24/7! It is said that dogs take after their owners, so it only makes sense that she likes accessories. In the above picture Samantha is wearing the Lexi Collar with a green monogram. I always try to get a collar that will pop against her dark fur and the Lexi Collar definitely does the trick!
Katy also sent The Proper Puppy Leash in the Ellie fabric for me to review. I love how the leash seems to be made of a good quality fabric that seems like it is able to handle a lot of stress. Plus The Proper Puppy Leash in the Ellie fabric coordinates perfectly with the Lexi Collar!
Since Samantha loves her collars so much I of course picked out two to review. For the second collar Katy sent the Tipsy Collar with a purple monogram for Samantha to try out. I really like the large pink and white check with the purple monogram, as you all can tell from the picture this collar really pops!
The collars, like the leash, are made out of a great material, and the buckle used to fasten the collar seems to be secure and reliable. Samantha may be an older dog, but she is full of energy {I usually tell people she is 4 instead of 13 just to avoid the shocked look and comment that always follows: “you’re kidding, she doesn’t act it”} and sometimes I feel like she is walking me; it probably goes without saying but a reliable collar and leash is key when it comes to Samantha.
Along with The Proper Puppy Leash in Ellie, the Tipsy Collar, and the Lexi Collar, Katy also sent a Pink Chevron Scarf and a key chain. I love the pink and white chevron used on the scarf and the key chain is wonderful as well! Be sure to stop by The Proper Puppy {click here} to shop around and find some adorable collars, leashes, and more for your dog!

Favorite Pinterest Accounts

Probably like every other female out there Pinterest is my favorite place to find inspiration and build somewhat of a fantasy world of all of my favorite things. Believe it or not I never had a Pinterest account till a little over a year ago and the only reason I started one was for it to go along with my blog. Before I started my blog I was never big on the whole social media thing, which is kind of funny now since I spend a good portion of my day updating or adding to different social media pages and have come to love certain forms of social media {I might be slightly addicted to Pinterest and Instagram…). Once I opened up a Pinterest account and got the hang of it I was hooked! Below are a few of my favorite Pinterest accounts that I visit and pin from on a regular bases.
This Is Glamorous//I love how everything in this account is so light and airy. From fashion to home décor, this is a wonderful Pinterest account to follow for those who enjoy an elegant, light, glamorous looks.
Paris Hotel Boutique//I love Paris, pink, vintage, and travel so of course this is a favorite Pinterest account of mine. The Paris Boutique has a ton of inspiration, travel, vintage Paris themed, and paper good boards with some simply fabulous thing pinned to them
Kayce Hughes//Kayce Hughes is not only a great clothing designer but she has a beautiful Pinterest account. Her Pinterest is eclectic  enough where basically anyone could visit her account and find at least one board to follow.
Tina Adams//Tina Adams has fantastic taste in every sense of the word. If you are looking for fashion or decorating inspiration then you definitely need to visit this Pinterest account.
Jack Rogers//Like Kayce Hughes Jack Rogers Pinterest account has a little bit of everything: holidays, recipes, fashion, nails, décor, even Jacki O., plus a little more. Needless to say Jack Rogers is another great Pinterest account that anyone could visit and find at least one board to follow.

There are very few things that can make the start of the week better than it already is, but a Kate Spade Sale just happens to be one of them! Tuesday morning when I was struggling to get out of my warm, cozy bed I decide to check my email to take up a few more minutes and wouldn’t you know it, there was an email from Kate Spade informing me of a surprise sale; if that news doesn’t wake you up in then morning and put you in a good mood then I don’t know what will! Below are a few of my favorite items that are included in the Kate Spade Sale. Click on the name of the item, located below the image, to be directed to the website. Best Drugstore Makeup

Admittedly, when it came to makeup I used to be “one of those people” who was hung up on the brand name and price point. I used to be convinced that unless makeup was something along the line of Dior, Chanel, Estée Lauder, etc. then it probably wouldn’t work very well. I was cured of this belief a few years ago; it was a Sunday night, the mall was already closed and I was out of mascara, I had no choice but to go to Krogers and hoped that drug store mascara wouldn’t give me an eye infection {dramatic, I know}. The next morning I applied the new drugstore mascara loved it! Ever since then I have branched out and have tried a few different products. Below are some of my favorite drugstore makeup finds.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sunshine warm upon you face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

The Chapeau Chateau :: Lilly Monogrammed Pocket Tee

A few weeks ago I started corresponding with Emily from The Chapeau Chateau who sent me an adorable Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Long Sleeve Pocket T-Shirt. Before I jump into the review on the t-shirt, I just want to say The Chapeau Chateau, which Emily and her mother, Jewel, run has some of the cutest things! Not only does The Chapeau Chateau offer monogram tees but they also sale monogram necklaces, hats, bracelets, fascinators, plus some. Besides, you can never go wrong with a good mother-daughter team!
The Chapeau Chateau has sixteen different Lilly Pulitzer prints to choose from for the pockets, plus a large selection of t-shirt colors, monogram fonts, and thread colors for the monogram; needless to say it is easy to find a combination you will love! If you have been reading my blog for a while you have probably gathered that I love warm weather and the beach so for my Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Pocket I chose the white long sleeve shirt, with the Lilly Pulitzer Turquoise High Beams print for the pocket, and medium pink thread for the color of the monogram.
I can honestly say that The Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Pocket Tee is my new favorite shirt! Admittedly, I was a little apprehensive about ordering white for the shirt color because as we all know the fabric of some white t-shirts just aren’t thick enough. The thickness of this shirt is perfect; I don’t even need to wear a shirt underneath. The shirt is soft and thick, and the monogrammed pocket is perfection! I styled the Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Pocket Tee with a pair of Lilly Pulitzer Fiesta Pink Gingham Buttercup Shorts, Jack Rogers Sandals, Kate Spade Small Square Stud Earrings, and Ray-Ban Clubmaster Classic Sunglasses.
I think it is safe to say that this shirt will be worn many times this spring and summer! I can so effortlessly picture myself wearing this Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Pocket T-shirt at the beach or by the pool this summer…after all there is a lighthouse in the Turquoise High Beams Lilly print! Just incase you all were wondering…The Chapeau Chateau passed the wash test as well!
If any of you are looking for the perfect Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Pocket Tee then be sure to visit The Chapeau Chateau! {click here to shop}. Lilly Pulitzer Monogrammed Pocket T-Shirts are available in both short and long sleeve. The Chapeau Chateau can be followed on Instagram {click here} or on Facebook {click here}
