Undeniable :: June Issue

Last month I was so excited when Anna from form the blog, Undeniably Anna, contacted me to be a contributor to the magazine she founded, Undeniable. I am thrilled to be working with some other wonderful blogger on this up and coming magazine that I am sure will be a success. Below is the Undeniable magazine along with the article I wrote this month. Be sure to page through Undeniable, I am confident that all will enjoy this!

The Importance of Water For Your Health:
I have to confess that up until about March I was in a slump where I was being a horrible water drinker – if I drank two glasses of water a day I though I was doing an ok job, which I knew really wasn’t the case. I was in the dreadful habit of drinking a coke in the morning (I’m not a coffee drinker), drinking another coke around noon after hitting the proverbial wall, and of course drinking another one in the late afternoon then one to end the day and maybe, just maybe, having two bottles of water a day. Needless to say I had successfully developed a very unhealthy habit of drinking too much coke and was lacking in water intake.

At the beginning of March I gave up Coke for lent and started drinking water during the parts of the day I would have normally had a coke. Once I started drinking an adequate amount of water again on a daily basis I could tell a huge difference! I feel more rested, I’m more productive during the day, I even lost a little weight, I sleep better at night, and my skin complexion has improved. Who knew drinking water could make such a difference…

As most of us probably learned back in our elementary school day the body is 70% water and believe it our not, the brain is 90% water. That being said it only makes sense that drink plenty of water would play a key role in our health. When I was doing my research for this article I learned that drinking plenty of water throughout the day reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles because water moisturizes the skin from the inside out; after I read this fact I was officially sold on drinking water – hello new best drinking friend!

Aside from reducing lines and wrinkles water has many other benefits as well such as increasing ones energy level, promoting weight loss, boost immune system, increases cognitive function, and reduces headaches. Water also impacts our long-term internal health in a positive way as well.  Drinking the adequate amount of water each day (8 glasses or more) helps to build muscle, improves liver and kidney function, and lubricates joints.

With the summer season upon (so happy it is here after that long winter) it is even more important to drink water in the warmer months of the year. This summer remember to stay hydrated on those hot days and it is always a good idea to have a water bottle with you!
