Coca-Cola: An Advertising Art History

As y’all know in the South we love Coca-Cola, or as it is more commonly referred to, Coke. Southerners even include Coke in recipes: Coke Float, Cola Cake, Coca-Cola Ham, and so on, needless to say Coke is quite popular down here. As this is the South and all, I just happen to have a Coca-Cola coffee table book, Coca-Cola Girls: An Advertising Art History, by Chris H. Beyer. This is a terrific book with factual information and beautiful photos of Coke advertisements throughout the company’s history. I absolutely love all the Coca-Cola ads from the early 1900s to present time. I think it is safe to say the Coca-Cola Company has mastered the art of advertisement. One of the most well known Coca-Cola advertisements would probably be Santa drinking a Coke. The Coca-Cola Company first come up with the concept in the early 1930s; the Coca-Cola Santa advertisements continue to be associated with the Holiday season even in present times.  I made an Instagram video {my first} of a couple of my favorite parts of the book. Enjoy!

  1. Sorry if the video is only loading on your computer at the moment. Instagram won't load on my computer tonight, so I couldn't embed the video. Hopefully tomorrow Instagram will be up and working on my computer and I can fix the problem!
