Foods To Fight Headaches

In the past taking a hot bath, drinking a lot of water, and taking Advil until it kicks in, has always been my go-to remedy to cure a headache. That remedy has always worked but lately I’ve been getting headaches too frequently, due to allergies and the recent weather, to be taking Advil all the time. I have been looking into alternatives to cure a headache, and have come across some tasty foods that help fight off headaches; which surprisingly work. I love food so for me this is the perfect alternative! Hopefully these same foods will help cure your headache too, and you can say goodbye to that splitting headache, taking Advil all the time, and instead of taking a bath in hopes of escaping your headache you can just take one to relax. Here are ten food I have come across that will help fight off your headache!
Coffee - Your favorite morning go-to drink can help fight off a headache. The caffeine in coffee helps to reduce the size of blood vessels, providing headache relief. When using this method only drink a cup of coffee at the most, too much coffee will make your headache worse.

Cherries – This fruit has strong anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and anti-allergy properties, a compound otherwise known as quercetin. Quercetin helps your body to block pain and sensitivity.
Bananas – Bananas are one of my absolute favorite fruits and I was thrilled to learn they can help fight off headaches! Bananas contain vitamin B6, which lowers the levels of serotonin in your brain, lowering the amount of pain your headache is causing.
Watermelon – Dehydration is a major cause of headaches and watermelon is just the fruit to cure to address that problem. Watermelon is a water-rich food that will quickly rehydrate your body.
Yogurt – Eating Greek yogurt is a great cure for a headache. The brain depends on calcium to function properly.
Almonds – The magnesium found in almonds helps your body to relax and protects you from the full force of a headache.
Fresh Salmon – Salmon will give you lasting energy for the day and stabilize your blood sugar. The omega-3 fatty acids found in salmon help to reduce the severity and duration of a headache.
Baked Potato – Almost every Southerner just cannot turn down the great taste of a baked potato, and as an extra bonus they help fight headaches. Potassium-rich foods can reduce the pain of a headache, and a baked potato with the skin is one of the best sources of potassium.
Whole Wheat Toast – The amount of vitamin B and the amount of magnesium in whole wheat will quickly stop your headache
Spinach Salad – Spinach decreases blood pressure and in turn alleviates headaches.
